Marriage is between a man and woman only. The gays would not be here if a man had not married a woman.

We're all equal, no matter what society or religion or anything says. The law should reflect this truth. As a straight person with a few gay friends, I can say that denying them this gift of happiness would be the biggest sin of all, not to mention that gays marrying won't have any effect on straight marriages. Besides, it's an issue of separation of church and state.

And I'm seeing a post that says something about the impossibility of gays being here without the straight parents. Entirely true, but the world is crowded. In a way, gay people are nature's population control. Nothing wrong with that. I hope someday humanity will look back on these days and wonder how people could be so cold to one another. That's my take on it.

Love is love. Straight people do not have to fight for their right for marriage. We aren't harming anyone anyway so just get over it. I thought we were all supposed to have equal rights? Besides, why does it matter who you love? As long as you are a good person. But of course, this shows how screwed up society is.

Actually, homosexuality is completely natural. It's been observed in over 1500 different species of animal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexual_behav...

Children can happen outside of marriage.

Marriage was not a Christian invention, so stop acting like you have the right to define it for everyone.

The marriages of other people literally have no effect on you whatsoever. Why do you people care so much what people like me do in our private lives?

Bigots like you should be expelled to Antarctica to make your own civilization. I'll laugh as it burns.

People are people, no matter who they love. And people have rights. To the people saying that gay couples should not be able to marry because they are unable to acually have children: I guess that means you oppose the right for any woman who has gone through menopause, or any sterile man or infertile woman to get married. If not, then your argument is invalid. To everyone who says that gay couples are unfit to be parents: you do realize how hard those couples have to work to be able to have children, right? They have to use adoption (where they would end up raising and loving a child that another straight couple could not raise) or surrogacy, while straight couples only have one thing they have to do to get pregnant. Along with this, one of my closest friends has two moms, and she is no different than me, who was raised by a mother and a father. To the people saying that gay marriage shouldn't be legalized because it would be a "threat" to straight marriage: for the past decade, the divorce rate in America (for first marriages) has been a steady 50%. Those are all straight couples. Furthermore, a person has a right to get married. The only people who are affected by that marriage are the two people saying "I do." To the people saying that gay marriage goes against the church: since when is America a theocracy? Our constitution says that this country is run by the people and for the people, not by God (a being that many people don't even believe in, so, actually, this part of their argument should be overruled). I am a straight, 16-year-old girl, living in the south. If I can see this, so should the people opposing gay marriage.

Why should anyone tell anyone who they shall live the rest of their lives with. Would you want someone to tell you who to be with or live you life with.

You don't have to be married to have children and that's besides the point. Who are we to judge? Last time I checked, marriage is a right. Not a heterosexual privilege.

people have the right to love who they love. since god is being brought in this argument, god knows what everyone is going to do before we even made it in this world. if its such a sin then we have to be accounted for our own sins. so why is man being the judge of gay marriage.

Imagine if you couldn't marry the one you love. You're breeding hatred and intolerance if you keep the mindset of "difference is bad". Please rethink your stance and help our community grow in a positive direction.
