We have civil union partnerships in New Jersey, but no rights the second we leave the state. Not to mention, we still have encountered insurance and other fiscal issues in New Jersey even though the letter of the law is supposed to be "equivalent" to marriage. Separate is not equal. The loving relationship we have shared for a decade deserves the respect of equality.

Honestly, the way two people love each other is no one's business. It doesn't hurt them, and it doesn't hurt you, so I don't see why anyone would be against. This isn't a matter of religion. America was built on separation of church and state, remember? It's sad to see how many people oppose the freedom to love.

The govt has no right to regulate people's personal lives. How can we be a nation based on liberty for all and then use separate but equal arguments?
