I am in favor of gay marriage. If one person can commit their life to another what difference does their sex make?

Because it's Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve!!!! Commit to the person all you want ... don't need a ring or a piece of paper to do that.

Then why are you worried whether or not I have a ring or a piece of paper? Rings bend and break and paper can burn...we are discussing marriage not materials.

You asked if we supported gay marriage .... No I don't. Don't ask if you can't take the answer.

Dont get me wrong...I dont care about your answer...was just looking for intelligent conversations on a topic. There was no supporting argument that was posed. Only a closed minded comment. No harm no foul.

So if the opinion doesn't match yours, then it's not intelligent? Why marriage? Wouldn't you already be committed?

Yes. Already committed to another individual, and why NOT marriage was the original question. Look at it this way...lets say two men are together, committed to a relationship..why cant they announce that they are undeniably promised to each other? Straight people can, and they get tax breaks for doing so. In another instance, take two women for example, throw in a couple of kids, now child support is not considered income so that is tax free monies to the lovely lesbian couple. Now do they deserve a tax break also. Better yet, should the lesbian couple get sent to college free for being "single" moms...because after all, its not a recognized marriage, right?
I do appologize if you felt that I insulted your intelligence, but the whole adam and steve comment was as old as Jesus. I was merely posing a topic that wasnt related to drugs, bad kids, and deadbeats. I wanted to give the kids in those situations a break and maybe envoke a stimulating conversation.

Why not marrage to me?... marriage was ment for man/woman ... I'm sorry .. that's how I feel. If I was in a gay committed relationship ... there would be some legal aggrements such as wills etc. As for children ... would the child be a natural child of one of the partners or adopted by both? If natural child of One, it's the same as M/F couples ... natural parent has more rights. Can't have 2 mothers, one is the step parent. A legal doc should be in place in case of death of natural parent. There would be no child support because a step parent wouldnt pay in either m/f or F/f relationship. If a gay couple managed to adopted a child (not natural to either) a good legal contact could be made in case of a split (visitations, support etc)Custodial parent would have the dependent tax deduction. In my opion, the child situation would be the same as m/f relationships single or married. In a gay relationship, there is no way the child could be the natural child of both.Did I make any since?
just sayinnn

i think gay marriage is perfectly fine. if you love someone, it shouldn't matter. marriage is marriage. whether its with a striaght, lesbian or gay couple. yes i know in the bible it was adam and eve. but in the bible it also says we are all gods children. therefore he loves each and everyone of us the way we are. people don't chose whether they want to be gay. its not something that you can just wake up and decide. maybe girls don't like guys because they just don't see them in that way. same with guys. its just like if you were straight there might be some ugly guy that likes you and you're just not into him that way but you are with a really sexy one. well thats how gay people feel.

Guys and guys or girls and girls do NOT belong together in that way. If everyone were gay then the human race would have died out a long time ago. We were designed to be with a member of the opposite sex. Otherwise, we would be asexual and wouldn't need another person to reproduce.

I have no idea what has went wrong with the gene pool or DNA in humans but something has. Some say it's a choice to be gay, some say it's biological. I think it's both to some degree along with other influences. Whatever it is, it isn't natural.

I personally don't think that people living an unnatural lifestyle (right or wrong) should be able to adopt children. Children need the molding of both a male and female to be balanced themselves in life and see both roles played out as it should be. What would you have them do, go to school and say "I have two daddies or mommies"? It doesn't work, daddie and step-daddy. Where's mommy? I don't have one, just two daddies. Can you imagine the ridicule these kids get? Is that fair to them just because the "parents" are gay? I don't think so. Children have problems enough without throwing this in on top of it.

If you are gay and want to live together, be committed, more power to you but don't expect the government or religion to condone it or sanction it. Personally I don't care if you want to hump water buffalo but don't expect the same benefits as a male/female relationship because that's what you want to do. People "want" to do a lot of things but our laws say they can't. The ones that can't live with that usually reside in prison for a while. I'm not saying to lock up the gays, I'm just saying that we can't do anything and everything WE want and expect it to be accepted by everyone including religion and the government.

So far no one has come up with a credible civil reason against gay marriage. It's all about fear, religion, and "tradition". But I don't want to hear this bull about how marriage was always supposed to be about one man and one woman because we all know darn well polygamy has been around for ages. Not to mention men marrying under-age girls.

A civil marriage is about the government recognizing the union of two individuals, regardless of gender. Please someone give me a rational explanation against same-sex marriages.

Wow, WTF that's a nice post (for a turd lol) I have to agree with you. Just because we think it's right doesn't mean everyone should think the same way. I don't really care one way or the other if homosexuals want to live together. I just have to think that marriage was meant for procreation. Period. By the same logic that homosexuals use for getting married, one could say we should let men marry a sheep or any kind of animal. I understand the argument that homosexuals don't have a choice in their sexual preference, that doesn't mean we should change all of our laws that were based on Gods word, just to accommidate them. I'm sorry if I am narrow minded but that's how I feel.

This issue is always going to be on the borders or religions and laws. People either have a religious view or a legal view. Don't see a win in sight

The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love YOU heterosexuals. It's just that You need more supervision.
