I unequivocally support gay marriage. A decision between two adults born out of love? What's not to support?

Marriage is about the coming together of a man and a woman to pledge themselves exclusively to one another, and to create a new family. It's the bedrock of our society, of any society. Homosexual relations, by their nature, neither transmit nor promote new life; to confuse such relations with an authentic marital relationship will be to undermine one of the very foundations of the social order.

I don't like the word "marriage", but a word like "nuptial" or "union" are better and I support "gay unions" to settle rights and principles of all people in this great country.

I agree with you that "marriage" is a special and holy event between a man and a woman. But there should be unions that could be the same legality as marriage for gay people, so that rights and privilages are equalized between gay and straight people. If gays are joined in a union, then the retirement rights, health rights, death rights, and inheritance rights can be settled and all people can enjoy a life in the Great Land.

Ew, there are people near me who care about this kind of stuff. Honestly, why should you. Who cares if they get married, they'll still have sex and do all the things a regular couple will, all you're doing is proving to the rest of the world just how bigoted us Americas are.

If someone loves someone they shouldn't be denied that.

There is no good reason why two consenting adults can't publicly and legally declare their love for one another.

So should infertile couples also be prohibited from marrying? Because they're obviously aren't producing new life.

and it's not like there are thousands of kids without loving parents and homes who might be adopted by same sex couples

I've been married for almost 20 years, and it's been a joy. Everyone should have that right.

"Seperation between church and state". You can't say that a group of people can't do something because what YOU do is "holy". Im sorry but that's bullshit, all you do is have sex and in 9 months, you have a baby. That's not holy. Everyother animal does it too. Just sit the fuck down because when i find that special someone, i want the right to say "I'm getting married!" not "Im getting a civil union" You are not better than me just because you like vagina.

As long as two people love each other, they should be allowed to marry. I don't see why anyone would ever disagree. If there's love an consent, then marriage should be allowed, no question about it. Marriage isn't a union between a man and a woman, it's a union between two people. People will always be homosexual and bisexual and heterosexual, and they should all be given the same rights. Privileges should never be restricted to people based on who they are. But it all comes down to consent. If two people want to marry, who are you to say they aren't allowed to? Who is ANYONE to say they aren't allowed to? Especially if they love each other deeply.

Marriage is a right of any two people, regardless of sexual orientation. The argument that God forbids it is also ridiculous. We are not a Christian country. The Constitution implies that church and state should always be separated. In addition, God forbids many things in the Bible and in the Torah, some of which are completely ridiculous today. For example, it is forbidden to touch a woman while she is on her period, it is forbidden to wear something made of more than one type of fabric, it is forbidden to reap the edges of your field, and it is required to stone all adulterers to death.

Everyone has the right to be treated equally. No one should be discriminated against for any reason. People need to be more accepting and less judgmental.
