Being a med student, you should be well aware of the hardships of being the sole caregiver for an elderly parent. Patty is not "mooching" off of her mother if she is CARING FOR her. If they split the bills and her mother is living in Patty's house, I don't see how anyone could say that Patty is the mooch, especially if she is the one who is assisting her mother in many ADL's.

But I won't say that Patty is being all that nice to you either, so maybe you both need to take a breath.
