I'm almost disgusted at the fact that my own city, the place where all my closest friends and my family are would be opposed to this. We have no right to say that a man cannot be with a man, we have no right to say that a woman cannot be with a woman. The arguments presented against gay marriage are, majority of the time, extremely senseless.
"We must protect the sanctity of marriage!" Some say. Sanctity? What kind of sanctity is left if Susan is already on her fourth husband and her fifth kid that her poor measly job at the supermarket can't even afford to keep? What kind of sanctity exists when Mary is continuously beaten by the man she married?
"The Bible says gays are bad!" you might tell me. Well, the Bible also says women should never speak in Church. The Bible also tells us that if you were born to an unwed mother, you can't go to Heaven no matter how devout you are as a Christian. The Bible tells us not to get tattoos. Some of the most devout Christians I know have tattoos. The Bible tells us not to wear polyester- but we do because it's cheap. The Bible tells us we can't divorce- but LOOK at America. Our divorce rates are the highest they've ever been.
"Think about the children!" I get told this one a lot. If you're going to use this argument against me, you might as well take away all the kids raised by a single parent. You might as well just take away legal guardians as well, because hey! They're not actually the kids biological parents. Step-brothers and step-sisters can't exist! It's not okay for the kids!!
Think about it. To all males: If a guy likes another guy, wouldn't that just leave more women for you? To all the female: If a girl likes another girl, wouldn't that just leave more men for you?
Why are you complaining, then? The homosexual aren't going to change anything by getting married. It's not like the world will suddenly crack open and everyone will fall to their doom. If they want to get married- let them. They're not going to affect you.

Why should we criticize who marries who when hetero couples have pretty much wrecked marriage as is?

I don't get why people are going against this! What is gay marriage going to do? Start WW3? Bring a plague onto people? Are schools going to start teaching how to have gay sex? NO! Gay people are just going to get married. That's all! Whoop de freaking doo.

Love is love, no matter the gender of the two people in the relationship. Besides, just because some people's religious views disagree doesn't mean it should be illegal. Separation of church and state.

Love is a beautiful thing and should not be hindered based on gender.

Love is love in any form. How would you feel if you couldnt be with the one you love just because other people thought it was wrong.

Love is Love. Also no one has the right to tell others how they should live their life. It's THEIR life.

Because the gay community was born this way. And they deserve the same rights as heterosexual couples. The constitution says, "All men are created equal." I enforce that.

Like others said - especially in Helen's well-written comment - there's not any sensible argument against it. No bad will come of gay marriage. Guess what will happen? GAY PEOPLE WILL GET MARRIED. Oh no, the world might end as a result...
