Brian, "This is earth calling Brian, come in." What planet of the universe are you on? The last time I checked neither straight women nor straight men like to marry gays and lesbians for partners. It's been tried and failed. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS GENDER SEGREGATION in gay marriage. Gays and straights are different, got it?
No, a gay man is more like a straight man than like a lesbian woman and a straight man is more like a gay man than a straight woman. People marry for many different reasons, not just sexual attraction.

Oscar Wilde and Meredith Baxter are two examples of gays marrying under the same laws as everyone else.

Not healthy or normal? THEN DON'T DO IT. Leave the rest alone who do.

The issue is rewriting marriage laws for everyone, not freedom. Every gay is free to marry under the same laws as everyone else, or have a religious same sex marriage ceremony without fear of prosecution polygamists face. Every gay is free to cohabit with consenting adults, the question is what happens when government approves sex segregating marriage where we now have perfect affirmative action, integration and diversity.

why, we'll call it "a more perfect union."

SCOTUS has said that marriage is able to be regardless of race or sexual orientation under the 14th Amendment.

The 14th Amendment explicitly acknowledges male/female inequality in Section Two. There is no gender equality right in the US Constitution; the Equal Rights Amendment was never ratified.

Marriage was created to make an appropriate situation for male/female sexual union and a home for the children produced by that union. Every child raised by a same sex couple is raised either motherless or fatherless.

Brian: UR wrong."Ten years after the Lawrence v. Texas decision, the Supreme Court ruled on June 26, 2013 that section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional "as a deprivation of the equal liberty of the person ... protected by the Fifth Amendment". United States v. Windsor, the title of the landmark case, was decided by a 5 to 4 vote. The federal government is required to recognize marriages performed in states where same-sex marriage has been legalized, and provide federal rights, privileges and benefits."

The Fifth Amendment doesn't grant gender equality either.

The thread is about gay marriage, not gender equality.

Same sex marriage is sex segregation marriage, it forces government to ignore the gender of mothers, fathers, husbands and wives. There is no Constitutional right to gender equality.

No, lesbian, gay, and bisexual orientations are not disorders. Research has found no inherent association between any of these sexual orientations and psychopathology. Both heterosexual behavior and homosexual behavior are normal aspects of human sexuality. Both have been documented in many different cultures and historical eras. Despite the persistence of stereotypes that portray lesbian, gay, and bisexual people as disturbed, several decades of research and clinical experience have led all mainstream medical and mental health organizations in this country to conclude that these orientations represent normal forms of human experience. Lesbian, gay, and bisexual relationships are normal forms of human bonding. Therefore, these mainstream organizations long ago abandoned classifications of homosexuality as a mental disorder.
