It also speaks out about shellfish and mixed fabric clothing. Looks like we're all going to Hell.

So should a Father be allowed to marry his own daughter, as long as she was of legal age? Equal has to be Equal, right?
Everybody has a line folks, and just because someone else line is in a different place than yours, doesn't make them wrong.

Actually, homosexuality is quite common in animals.

Many animals practice same sex relationships as do all humans since the beginning of time. Historically, homosexuality has been frantically discouraged by the church because it violates their main goals, which are to procreate and convert.

I support it because the government does not have the right to regulate morality. If two men or two women cannot be married, then a man and woman should not enjoy that fundamental freedom either.

And how has it made nations fall apart? The mighty hand of the lord smite them down? I think not! Never has love and/or sex caused a nation to fall.
Who are ye to judge? God?

I believe that it is discrimination to not allow two people to be married simply because they happen to be of the same sex. If it is legal for a man and woman to be married for the purpose of companionship, emotional support, and legal responsibility then it should be legal for two men or two women. We need to stop basing our morality on a book that supposedly was written thousands of years ago, translated into thousands of different languages, and changed to suite different cultures and current issues. It is NOT the "word of God", its just a bunch of stories that people take entirely to literally.

I oppose it. However, I agree that equal should be equal for all. If you can't have equality under the constitution, whether you're straight or homosexual, then it isn't true equality.

They already have the same rights as everybody else. Just get married to the opposite sex that's all. Problem solved.

So you are saying homosexuals should marry someone they don't love, have no physical attraction to, and no shared interest with in order to make everyone else comfortable? In other words, the religious zealots get to decide what is "right" for everyone and tell us who we can marry and have a life with. So much for it being a free country!

Just curious as to why you oppose same sex marriage. Would you care to elaborate?

I do agree with your statement "If you can't have equality under the constitution, whether you're straight or homosexual, then it isn't true equality", but I think marriage is an outdated and useless institution.

Fortunately, our laws are not based on gods.
