Hmmm I thought that was what sex was for.

Anyway in reality today marriage is for government. If you are one of those that oppose government intervention in any way then you would be for allowing people to decide for themselves who should get married and not require the government to take a hand in any way - like deciding who gets a marriage license and who does not.

However, you have your beliefs and others do not hold to the same belief.

By the way, heterosexuals have not been doing a good job on the procreation front as far as I an concerned. We are not getting enough new young blood to fight our wars and provide the manpower to keep our consuming society going.

And how can you expect baby boomers to retire if heterosexuals do not start cranking out more people?

There is no real reason to oppose it. Religious reasons should be thrown out. Gay couples are hurting nobody else by this choice, whether you find the lifestyle distasteful or not.

exactly! at one time I might have not been so open minded. I have met and become good friends with some wonderful people who happen to be gay. Most of the time I didn't know it for a long time. it didn't occur to me nor did it matter.

I love them for THEM. I don't love them cause they are gay. if I dislike them I dislike them, not because they are gay but because I don't like them.

to me it's the same as hating cause your black. or spanish or have blue eyes.

the argument is "what next, they'll want to marrry their dog". I say, go ahead and marry it just don't do anything in front of me. I say the same to my straight friends and their spouses. LOL

wonder how many of my straight friends might do something in the privacy of their bedrooms, that I might not approve of? same thing.

the religious group that is the biggest fighter against this can't keep religion out of it.

I think God made all of us, loves all of us and we should all love and care for each other!

A marriage is a union between a man and a woman, not two men or two women as their mates.

I've been going to Oscoda every summer for nearly forty years now. It is paradise to me, and the people are wonderful. I'm gay and want to thank those of you who support gay marriage. I understand that it's a thorny topic, but I'm with the poster who says that it hurts no one. It's only allowed me to find legal protection with my spouse.

Marriage is an institution for man and woman for procreation. Note - the anatomy of female/male bodies. How can two men or two women produce an offspring? Plain and simple. Homosexals and lesbians can do as they want with their lives but do not have the right to impose their choice of lifestyle upon society. How do I explain that God created man and woman and the media created a third gender?

So you are saying infertile couples shouldn't be allowed to marry? What if someone got married only to discover they are unable to produce an offspring, is their marriage no longer valid?
"do not have the right to impose their choice of lifestyle upon society"
Niether does anyone else, Christains, Catholics, Lutherans, Muslims, Mormons, Jewish, Scientology and any other religions do not have the right to impose their way of living upon society, this country isn't a theocracy.
But hey, while we are at it why don't we make divorce and abortion illegal. Let's stop eating pork and wearing fabrics made from more than one cloth. Let's make women property again and forbid interracial relationships. Let's bring back slavery. After all those are what God thinks is it not? And what should we do with the transsexuals? Are they considered an abomination as well?

Marriage has been redefined throughout history
At one point it was defined as you could only marry someone who belonged to your own race and social class. It has also been defined that you could only marry someone your parents chose for you. The definition changes as time goes on. Get over it. And as for being morally wrong, according to whom?
