Reuters)- A Washington state florist who refused to sell flowers to a gay couple for their wedding has been sued by the American Civil Liberties Union, in the second legal action accusing the vendor of discrimination.
Florist Barronelle Stutzman already faced a consumer protection lawsuit over the incident filed against her last week by state Attorney General Bob Ferguson. She maintained her Christian beliefs prevented her from selling the flowers for the same-sex wedding, according to court papers.

see heart......thats exactly why people don't like your kind. They THINK they are a little bit smarter than everyone else. Being an engineer pretty much tells me you are a man. I have a masters degree heart and have been a professional all my working life so I'm not overly impressed. I can't for the life of me understand how one man can have sex with another man. Its beyond gross. Pretty much everyone thinks that but in this society now nobody is going to come out and say it.

there ya go making assumptions again about my gender. you're better of not guessing because it only makes you appear a bigger fool. my gender is not germain in any discussion up here.

i cannot for the life of me how you can profess to have a masters degree & have no working knowledge of science. how does that work, anyway? maybe it's in some art related field, i don't know.

so tell me this - when you meet someone, anyone, do you visualize them having sex or is it just the gay males you picture in your head having sex? i would suggest to you, then, to stop the visualizations. if you need help with that, there's professionals that can help you.

soyou're trying that in this thread, too? come on brian...stop repeating yourself.

actually, my thought is that it's pretty ridiculous to sue someone for this serivce because there's so many florists out there. liekwise, i think it's ridiculous, as a service or goods provider in this economy, to refuse service based on personal preference. that's like tossing out good money.

i see both sides but i'm not a person who'd sue for something like this. so your "point" is pointless with me, brian.

Same sex marriage is the end of freedom.
http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx...

so i did a little more digging out of curiosity. if you read through the law in the state of washington, you'll see that "The right to be free from discrimination because of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, honorably discharged veteran or military status, sexual orientation, or the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a person with a disability is recognized as and declared to be a civil right. "

further in the statute, regarding public commerce :
"The right to engage in commerce free from any discriminatory boycotts or blacklists. Discriminatory boycotts or blacklists for purposes of this section shall be defined as the formation or execution of any express or implied agreement, understanding, policy or contractual arrangement for economic benefit between any persons which is not specifically authorized by the laws of the United States and which is required or imposed, either directly or indirectly, overtly or covertly, by a foreign government or foreign person in order to restrict, condition, prohibit, or interfere with or in order to exclude any person or persons from any business relationship on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, honorably discharged veteran or military status, sexual orientation, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability, or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a person with a disability, or national origin or lawful business relationship: PROVIDED HOWEVER, That nothing herein contained shall prohibit the use of boycotts as authorized by law pertaining to labor disputes and unfair labor practices;"

got that? businesses may not discriminate in "commerce" based upon sexual preference. furthermore, the woman in question had a history of doing business with the gay couple - yet she never refused their business before.

so her excuse just doesn't wash, legally speaking. sorry pal, brian, ya got nuttin', again.

...and brian, before you go further, the same law in the link above provides for this :

"(2) Any person deeming himself or herself injured by any act in violation of this chapter shall have a civil action in a court of competent jurisdiction to enjoin further violations, or to recover the actual damages sustained by the person, or both, together with the cost of suit including reasonable attorneys' fees or any other appropriate remedy authorized by this chapter or the United States Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended, or the Federal Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988 (42 U.S.C. Sec. 3601 et seq.)."

public secular law is on the side of the complainants. public secular law that was enacted in 2009 - well before same sex marriage was legalized. and same sex marriage was, in fact, put into place by public popular vote in the state of washington.

do you suggest that christians not follow the laws of the land, despite having that admonishment to do so in the bible?

i don't understand - the woman was elderly & had been doing business with the couple for awhile and knew they were gay. she had no trouble taking their money otherwise.

i'm betting if she'd have said that she just couldn't accomodate their date or something like that, then the whole mess would've been avoided.

oh thats right heart........YOU don't even know your sex. Please forgive me for assuming you did.

We all knows its become politically correct and in vogue to accept the homosexual lifestyle. Behind closed doors though all straight people find it disgusting and rightfully so.

Your "science" is nothing more than opinions given out by gay friends "scientists". Science has become so distorted that it hardly even qualifies to be called as such.

you just hate it and me, i know. i get it. i get why. here's the thing though. i don't hate you. not one iota.

and so now you speak for ALL straight people. that's as idiotic as if i were to speak for all gay people.

science is science and it is verifiable, provable and can be re-created by other researchers. but then, i know you don't understand anything concerning science. go on back to your kindergarden anti. that's where you belong with your small understanding of this big world.

H&m provides proof here^^^

If same sex marriage becomes law, you can be sued for speaking out or acting to defend one man and one woman marriage.

Same sex marriage is the death of freedom.

i provided the law in the state of washington - that is not applicable anywhere else these united states.
the state chose to enact the law and to word the law, not any group within the state.

so you're saying that people shouldn't take action within the guidelines of the laws? you're saying that people shouldn't be expected to follow the laws? you don't think people should have the right to have the ability to adress lawful issues before a seated judge? is that what you want? to further restrict rights?

you make absolutely zero sense in this case as well, bi. shouldn't be surprising as you make no sense with anything else, either.

What's this "bi." stuff? Is that innuendo?

H&M sides with suing a business owner over the decision not to service a same sex marriage, if you oppose same sex marriage he'd put you out of business just as fast. If you value feeding your family, keep marriage one man and one woman.

i side with the laws of the state. you're the one that opposes following public secular laws. you'd be the one paying fines and facing court cases, not me fella.

if you value feeding your family, as i do, follow the laws of this nation and each state. then you won't get into legal problems.
