<quoted text>None of the cases cited above are from the Constitution; there is no gender equality right in the Constitution. Congress has decided to enact some case specific equality laws, but none state men and women are equal, except within the narrow confines of each law.
.
<quoted text>Exactly!!! Our Constitution explicitly states male and female are different; there is no Constitutional right to gender equality. The ERA failed, the left is trying another tack.
1. are only men allowed to vote?
no - both the civil rights act and the 19th amendment cleared that one up by allowing women and blacks the right to vote.

2. are only men allowed to hold publically elected office?
no - look at the congress in DC or any other state's congress for starters.

there is no gender bias built into the constitution brian. sad for you that this must be explained to you over and over and over and over and over and over again over the course of at least 3 yeas and you STILL don't get it!

reading comprehension.........how about moral comprehension on your part.
you don't get to dictate anyone else's morals. you can decide for yourself how to conduct yourself, not anyone else. your rights end at the tip of your nose and mine begin at the tip of my nose.

i can't dictate to you how to conduct yourself.

uh, john, you ok man?

you might want to check with SCOTUS as they declared marriage a basic right.

the rest of your list, well, is just your stuff you get to deal with. i won't even touch any of it because it's not germain to the topic for one and for two, well, none of it makes any sense.

No, men and women now have the right to vote and hold office but the Constitution explicitly treats male and female differently.

Same sex marriage is wrong because it's against the law in Oklahoma.

<quoted text>I've never said you "shouldn't get married", if you announce you're engagement all I would say is "Best wishes!" There's no law in Oklahoma against traveling to a jurisdiction that licenses same sex marriage for your ceremony, "Bon voyage!". There's no law against a religious same sex marriage ceremony in any state. Many gays marry under the same laws as everyone else; I believe that's because they want their children raised by the child's mother and father. I've never told anyone they shouldn't get married.

read the links i gave you - matthew shepard was killed in wyoming because he was gay - the idiots that were put on trial & found guilty tried to use the defense "he's gay" & it didn't work.

the other examples show you how gays are treated....they beaten regularly here in america. by people like yourself. and those links are all from vetted, valid news outlets. none of them are politically linked.

try opening your mind to what's really happening for a change.

it's always been that way, anti. don't you realize that you don't dictate to anyone else on how they think, feel, believe, behave, etc? you don't get to dictate whether or not someone believes in God or what faith they can or will subscribe to. you don't get to order someone into a church. you don't get to decide what will be in their hearts or minds.

the rules we all follow while we're here in america is public secular laws. that's the basis of our society.

if you choose to believe, if you choose to attend any specific church, that's your choice, your option. not anyone else's. there's no one on this earth that can force you to go to any church, any synagogue, any temple, or keep from going to any of those, nor can they tell you how to think feel or believe.

that's how things work, anti. i'm sorry you don't understand that.

brian, look, pal, really.....the constitution does not differentiate between men and women when it says "ALL"....get it?

we're ALL assured the same rights, liberties, freedoms, responsibilities, protections under the laws of this nation. no one is treated differently. if your son, say he lives in milwaukee, kills a man, his due process is no different than that of any woman, say who lives in seattle and she kills someone. they're both treated equally and fairly and equably under the law. they both can have an attorney. they both have a fair trial. if they're both found guilty, then they're both punished.

likewise, either men or women can run for public office. there's no gender differentiation in who holds a public office.

how many times will i have to explain that to you? ALL is encompassing everyone of us living in the united states of america. male and female. regardless of age, gender, race, etc etc etc.

don't believe me? ask an attorney that resides and practices here in the states, brian.

relative morality heart......its the trademark of a humanist/atheist point of view. Whats wrong for one person isn't wrong for another in your world. Its sad that you can't even distinguish between right and wrong can you. Oh wait, there is no right and wrong in your mind

i know it's wrong to discriminate against someone in legal terms.

how you think feel or believe is your business.

now that you can't deny that gays are beaten, tortured and killed in modern day america, what do you say? that it's ok? that's the way you think your fellow humans should be treated?

so what law or where in the constitution does it say that you, or anyone like you, gets to dictate morality? gets to tell everyone else what church to belong to? come on, i know you can show me since you're so adamant about it. surely you've got legal precedent to substantiate your stance.

telling someone which church to go to doesn't have anything to do with morality. You believe in relative morality heart which is the cornerstone of a humanist point of view. You say you are a Christian which I don't believe for a second. There are rights and wrongs in this world.

Brian talk to anyone with ANY legal expertise and they will tell you that the 14th equal protection clause makes women equal... You can play your "greg brady exact words" game all you want. Does not work ask anyone who knows any law.
