Who said GOD doesn't believein GAY marriages... or same sex marriages... It is not our place to judge or say other wise... GOD will be the judge.... I say let people live their lives as they so desire with whomever they so desire...

The simple fact that a man and woman can be married by a judge and not just in church by a preacher or priest, makes in illegal in my opinion. If you want to say God says they shouldn't marry then a man and woman should only be allowed to marry inside a church. If a man and woman can get married in a court room then I should be allowed to marry my significant other of 18 years in a court room. That is why it should be descrimination against gays.

"Marriage" is a sacrament, between a man and a woman. If they want "civil unions" or the state to recognize them as a couple, I don't have a problem with that - I don't want the church to sanction it.

It makes me SICK to think that our area is this intolerant. Not suprising, really, considering the history of bigotry in the south.
In my opinion, love is love. I am a woman very much in love with a man. My hope for everyone is that they can find someone who makes them happy and who they make happy; man or woman is irrelevant.
To date, I have yet to find anyone who has a valid reason to be against it. The only things people can say is that they don't like it, or it's "sick". In what way does it harm you?

The hetro population has made a joke of the Sacrament of marriage. Serial divorces, adultery, children out of wedlock, the list goes on.

I have more respect for two people of the same sex in a loving committed relationship (marriage) than someone who runs off for a $500 divorce simply because 'I'm not happy anymore'. Give me a break. Self-styled Christians who make a pledge to God only to break it for convenience a few years later are ill qualified to pass judgment (IMHO). Compounding this are those divorcing parents essentially destroying children's lives in the process.

People don't act like homophobia is a crime, they just treat it like what it is: a perspective that has no foundation in rational thought and is therefore not worth most educated people's time to consider as a valid point of view.

Marriage IS a religious institution, and as such should not require government validation. Civil unions are what our country needs for both heterosexual and homosexual couples.

Most people who argue against gay marriage but support (and I would go so far as to say "claim to support") civil unions for them understand, at least unconsciously, that giving civil unions to homosexuals while still allowing heterosexual couples to get "married" would preserve it's status as something "better" something "more" than what our gay citizens are allowed to have.

Consider the teachings of Christ, whom you claim to follow. If you feel that gay couplings are sinful and offensive to you- turn the other cheek.

Your last statement is true of a double minded man. But your first statement seems to come from more than a blind or simple minded man.
1 John 4:8 "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

Marriage to me is the outward expression and open statement to all of a binding LOVE and Commitment to one another.

God knows our hearts (1 John 3:20). "God knows the difference between a true marriage covenant and an attempt to justify sexual immorality."

Most Gay and lesbian people I know that are in committed relationships KNOW the difference between SEX & LOVE. If more "Straight" people knew this difference the divorce rate would not be so high.

For most Gay or Lesbian people the concept of marriage is not sexual but the commitment and devotion built between two people.

I could go on for hours about this, and haven't even touched on the LEGAL issues.

I always said OS was a fruity town anyways. Now Connie if you can find a way to make money off the Gays then you'll really be good to go!!!
