Marriage has, is and always will be for male and female! Besides, the objective of marriage is pure love and building a family. Both are contrary to the lifestyle and other choices homosexuals make in their twistted views. An overwelming percentage have had multiple "partners" and have no desire for anything less.

The homosexual community have already perverted enough words ( i.e. gay) let's allow that to happen again!

If everybody knew how to read the Bible the condemnation of homosexuality would not be the conclusion. Problem is that most Christians only read the Bible literally. If the Catholic Church does not condemn homosexuals then there must be some truth in that the Bible neither condemns nor supports homosexuality. Frankly, the Bible does not describe sexuality at all. Even the concept that adultery brings to the table of sex outside of marriage is sinful is a modern moralistic notion. Adultery was never about sex. It was about stealing another man's property. Homosexuality was never the sin of Sodom. Nor were the purity laws of Leviticus ever meant to define sin. The Mosaic Law was Israel's Constitution. Such was the law, defining the distinctness of the nation, Israel. As was the Commandments, which were originally, Seven. Sin is not the moralistic laws of ecclesiastical laws. Sin is represented by man's estrangement from God, Idolatry. Romans was never about homosexual sin. It was about bringing together Jews and Gentiles. Sin to Paul was always singular and never plural, as in moralistic laws. There is no condemnation of homosexuality in the Bible unless you do a literal reading. Traditional reading is a critical reading. Critical discourse has always been the tradition of Christianity. The Council of Jerusalem, of Nicaea, of Chalcedon, of Trent and so on. Defining, making doctrine where there was only an inference to the divinity of Jesus, the Trinity, of marriage, etc. Christianity is what man has made it by deciding what Jesus taught. Jesus did not teach about homosexuality.

The sanctioning or acceptance of gay marriage is against my Christian principles. The Bible says NO, so do I.

JRE, you cannot deny that what the Bible says to you is a personal interpretation. Your statement that the Bible says "NO" is only, or as decisive, as how you interpret the Bible. Fact is that you cannot state that God established marriage. You can only infer that God did. I can say this because there is no Bible passage that states what constitutes a marriage. Marriage was not a word in ancient Hebrew. Nor was there an ancient Hebrew word for wife. Adultery was not about sex it was about property. Women were the property of men. Any mention of marriage is always about the human condition. Leviticus does not define marriage. It is simply addressed as a human condition.

I have to ask you, did you ever do a search for what a marriage is in the Bilbe?

It is not natural and serves no purpose to anyone. Stop wasting my money on legal suits.

Tom, It is a good use of your money. I only wish that the courts allow for biblical evidence so that Christianity can get back on track with the Word of God. Homosexuality is neither condemned nor supported in the Bible.

America isn't a country of biblical law. If it was no one would have any rights including blacks and women. In a democracy people don't "vote" on other people's rights.

Well, that is exactly what they did in Alaska voting in an amendment to the Ak. Constitution declaring marriage between a man and a woman. The Representative was a Baptist

There really is no reason to OPPOSE something that does not concern you. If two males get married, or two females get married, please explain to me how it would affect your life in any way? PLEASE inform me how "God" someone a lot of you have never met or seen, is telling you that it's female and male, not any other way? PLEASE INFORM ME how you're making your vote due to a bible that was written by ANYBODY? You know, you're all ignorant. You're all afraid too. Gay marriage doesn't involve anybody but the gay couple that chooses to get married. I don't see the big deal, nor can I fathom how many of you can say "read the bible" or "jesus said so". Did this "jesus" speak to you in person? Did you come to your house before you made a vote or comment and say, "Hey. I said Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve or Eve and Madam" Like, really? No. GAY MARRIAGE SHOULD BE LEGAL BECAUSE UNLESS YOU ARE GAY, THEN WHY SHOULD IT MATTER? Jesus christ, just think about it and stop be so close minded.

First, the word "gay" was misused even before the "perversion" by the homosexual community. It's original intent was meant to be "happy". And who's to say exactly who caused that change?
Secondly, if marriage is only about building a family, then I guess all women or men who cannot reproduce because of medical reasons shouldn't get married either. And with all the divorces, that "pure love" reason is just bull shit. I've seen many more loving and devoted gay couples than straight.

Marriage is a partnership formed by love between two individuals who choose to spend their lives together. If two people who don't even love each other (see Kim Kardashian's marriage) are allowed to get married, why can't two people of the same sex get married?

Marriage is a civil contract not a religious right. Marriage was never a word in ancient Hebrew, nor was the word, wife. I support homosexuals as well as gay marriages. Homosexuality is not condemned in the Bible. Human sexuality is not defined in the Bible either. Christianity is about relationships. It is about the heart and it is not about being moralistic like fundamentalist and orthodox Christians.
