Gay Marriage Debate - North Arlington, NJ
Do you support gay marriage?
#1 Jan 18, 2012
cause everyone deserves to be happy no matter who they love! just because gays and lesbians can't be explained by science and go against religion doesn't mean they're not human and aren't allowed to be happy. we deserve rights just as much as everyone else.

Everyone deserves to marry whomever they choose. People are getting married for money and gettng divorced so fast, it's a trend. Marriage isn't a joke. It's something special, something you do with the person you LOVE. If a man loves a man, let him marry that man. If a woman loves a woman, let them get married. If you are homophobic, you're homophobic. It's their lives, their marriage. You don't have to marry the same sex, why do you care? Love is love. Everyone should have a choice.

People need to start worrying about real issues like homelessness and families not having enough to eat. If two people love each other regardless of gender, where is that a problem? Get your heads out of the sand and open up your closed minds. And don't start quoting the bible, because last time I checked the Lord found hate and bigotry distasteful.

Religion...bah. Religion is the cause of 90% of the world's problems. Edicts written by MAN of what they THINK the Lord said. It's all interpretation, written to rule the masses by FEAR.

Life Liberty and EQUALITY are the purpose of the Law

I feel this is more of a human right. 2 people (regardless of gender) should not be excused from wanting to build a future/life together. People want to say that homosexuality is against religious views, but these created views are man-made and not divine law. All religion tries to teach mutual love and respect and there are no exceptions to this rule. To fully love and respect your fellow man, you cannot put the stipulation that it only applies if there are heterosexual, that they are the same racial ethnicity or have the same religious views. When one person attempts to use such arguments as religious views to defend their opinion that the way someone has been made to function is wrong and should be condemned, this becomes more of an issue that they are attempting to use faith to legitimize their hatred and bigotry. When will we as a society stop focusing on hatred towards one another and begin viewing each other with love and equality? It really seems that with each generation, we must find something new to hate and make a new classification of human beings that must then put a fight together to gain the love, respect, understanding and civil rights that should be awarded to each person at birth. Really makes you think about who we are as a society and attempt to figure out why we behave the way we do and make no attempt to improve.
