Why aren't gay people entitled to the same rights as (man & woman) married couples? Who cares, it always goes back to religion. It is a basic human right to marry no matter what gender etc.. you are.

1. Jesus was a LIBERAL Jew, so how would you know what he would want?

2. Marriage in the US is sanctioned by the government (you need a marriage license), not by any religious institution. It grants specific legal rights (joint tax filing, inheritance, etc.). Having children or a religious ceremony is OPTIONAL.

3. The Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution (the HIGHEST Law in the land) prevents discrimination against ANY minority. And just in case anyone has forgotten what the Supreme Court ruled decades ago: "Separate, but equal" is not equal.

I want a 100% chance of my commitment to another human being to be recognized, respected, and given the same rights, whether I am in a heterosexual or homosexual relationship.

You shouldn't be ruining other people's lives because you don't like the things they're doing. Mind your own business.

because of reasons.
(also, I have no idea how this is 2012 and this is an "issue", if people want to get married they should be allowed to regardless of whatever orientation, gender, religion, etc.)

We are all human being. Living, breathing, people apart of the same nation. Why should someone have their rights taken away just because they are 'different' then what society deems 'normal'. Religion should NOT override the Declaration of Independence.

1. marriage is meant to be between two people who love each other, no matter their gender. 2. sanctity of marriage? it's not like that even exists anymore with the rate of cheating and divorce. 3. separation of church and state.

Please we do not force what is already prepared for us? We are going live without morals? Use common sense. We do not see this in animals.

I am upset by people saying that they support gay rights but not gay marriage. Why can't people just support human rights, we are all people, and the way that someone else is living their life is up to them, it has no effect on you, why would you desire to cause someone pain?

Whom a person loves is none of your business, and it does not concern you. Live and let live.
