Excellent point. Love is a feeling you don't need a piece of paper to say that plus with the way most marriages end up these days why make the document if your already commited to each other its just as pointless as regulafr marriage

The government giving tax credits to a married man and woman is an investment in future tax payers. How does a man married to a man or woman married to a woman produce future tax payers?

That's another good point haha so don't give em the tax credit then, if they can't reproduce future tax payers to support the government then the government shouldn't support them

We are a nation of laws that define marriage as one man and one woman. Marriage is defined by our moral standards and those traced back to the bible. Gay Marriage is not supported by the majority of Americans and has been the fall of many nations, including ROME going forward.

Marriage predates religion, and many successful nations allow same sex marriage.

Adoption, IVF, etc., but the married tax credits are so that any one HOUSEHOLD is not overtaxed, not an investment into future tax payers.

So you'd support a civil union just not as long as it's called marriage? Giving a homosexual couple the basic rights that come along with a marriage? How much time do you spend debating against divorce among your Christian friends? You publicly oppose homosexual marriage with a chunk of your time, I wonder what the ratio is publicly opposing divorce?

I don't really understand the moral argument from Christians anyways? Maybe you can help me understand better... It seems like marriage hasn't been working for awhile, it's been defiled just as much by Christians as the world. Divorce has done far more damage to this country and Christians are big contributors.

In the midst of their utter poor example of marriage they argue for it? They band together and grasp at the last straws of power which is their hypocritical moral standards. They'd have a lot more credit in a culture if they put as much their tithe money into repairing relationships as they dumped into right wing/anti-homosexual political moral legislation.

Christians have very little reputation left in American culture, they're an annoying voice that has very little to say anymore. The Gospel they preach isn't Good News to the lost, it's piss poor theology that's been skewed by politics and 'Playing Church'...

Spend more time preaching against divorce and less time playing Judge over people.

Side note: A big part of Evangelicals being so opposed to this subject is two fold; first they don't really have any homosexual friends and second it's a sin they've never dealt with personally in their own life. Personal and cultural disconnected ignorance.

Christians for the most part don't spend enough time learning the culture they live in, spend time with those that Christ died for. It's like a missionary who has no experience with African culture, they're usually just workers who come along aside the experienced leadership that has become close with said culture.

...the world is unlovable and Christians are horrible at loving the unlovable now days.

First of all, it isn't just Christians that support maintaining Traditional Marriage Values, it is the vast majority of all Americans.
The simplest answer to the question is that homosexual relationships do nothing to serve the state interest of propagating society, so there is no reason to grant them the costly benefits of marriage. It's not about what they want, it's about what they have to offer society.
Come on... the procreation argument, really? If they adopt a couple kids can they marry? If adding to the population is the prerequisite to marriage then what do you purpose to married couples who can't reproduce or don't want to adopt? Strip them of their rights? See how this argument doesn't work?

I see Gays are anti-procreation and pro-GRIDS/AIDS. Gays just want the medical insurance from a spouse so they readily afford the drugs to keep their AIDS ridden bodies alive longer just burden the economy and society as a whole and keep spreading their GRIDS/AIDS.

Gays want to end family bloodlines and replace them with commodity (Surrogate, test tude, clone, etc...) kids.

Well then all should be taxed equally. I say do away marriage benefits provided by the government and other government benefits packages, especially in these economic hard times. Heck gay men caused the health costs to sky rocket with their GRIDS/AIDS they shared with others through bi-sexual contact, blood donations, needle sharing, etc... Now they want to mooch health care off of someone elses employer.

Well lets see:
Gays want to corrupt the institution of marriage, which is suppose to facilitate having and rasing children. Seems very anti-procreation, and very pro-commodity (test-tube, surrogate, clone, etc...) children oriented.

GRIDS was a gay only diease for 2 years until the buggers spread it to the heterosexual community through blood donations, bi-sexual intercourse, needle sharing and even in some cases using it as a weapon.

Stop the hate, you perverted bigot.

BTW: GRIDS = Gay Related Immune Deficieny Syndrome the first name in the US for AIDS. So go but poking, reeming, all you want just don't rely on tax (health care) dollars to make your dieased body alive a little longer.

Intentional or not homosexuals are nothing more than murderers, they killed over half a million in the US and still counting, by comparison terrorist only killed 5000+ in the US.

Marriage in the "legal" words is paper for a legal reason. Marriage in the emotional sense is a matter of the heart. Who are we to say what should be in the heart of another person if it causes no harm.

No one, including the president of the united states or our own govenor should have the right to tell us who and who not to marry. Wether the person is straight or gay. Gay marriages have nothing to do with breaking the law, unless seen by religeous rights. However in the U.S religeous rights are exspressed throughly and therefore gay marriages can be seen as a credidential to religion. By not allowing gay marriages, the law is bias to religeon itself.

Well marriage is nothing then a benefits package. If no should be able to tell us who we can marry. Then why Gays only including themselves in this and not everyone. Why can't a brother and sister who love each other get married? Why can't 3 or more people whom all love each other get married? You don't need marriage to love someone. And by choosing who you love, if it be someone of the same gender than you do not meet the qualifications for the marriage benefits package.

I support. People should be FREE to love who ever they want to love, being denied this goes against our first amendment. We went to war over this. I just don't understand why someone should have an opinion on what other people do. If you don't like it, don't do it!
