Why prevent people from living honestly and in monagomy which will prevent spread of social diseases. Gay lifestyle is not lightly chosen. Gays are physically predestined by genetic and physical attributes. why do some people think that everyone should be just like them? No thanks.

Regarding marriage, Jesus pointed back to the way God made things to be, which is one man and one woman to become the individual family unit under God. It's simple. It's clear. It has a sure foundation. What unbelievers do is their own issue that they will one day be accountable to God for.

The vote didn't work. Jesus pointed back to the beginning account of Adam and Eve. One man and one woman to be established as the family unit, and each has a different role and responsibility to God, each other and their children and their parents.

To condone any other way is to reject the teachings of Jesus. Acts 3:22,23.

Opposing gay marriage is just as bad as not allowing non-whites to vote. Stop trying to limit other people's rights and turn them into second-class citizens because they aren't like you or because your religion(or whatever else you try to use to justify your bigotry) says it's wrong.

Everyone deserves the same rights. Religion is irrelevant.

I believe that gays should have the same rights we do. As long as it's not hurting anyone and it is between 2 consenting adults, I don't see how it's anyone else's business. People want to cry, "But, it's a sin!" Well, if so, that's between them and God. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

My personal opinion is that we shouldn't discriminate against who can or can't marry. As long as they are human beings and age of consent and not hurting anyone, I don't see where it's anyone else's business. Let them be happy. Some people cry and say, "But, it's a sin!!" If that's so, that is between them and God and as a Christian, we will ALL have to stand before the Almighty and be judged for ALL of OUR sins one day. How are we any better than them, or they any worse than us? America needs to loosen up a little. I don't believe being homosexual is a choice. To me, sexuality is not just something you can choose. Something you can turn off or on. If you're a man and you feel nothing when you look at another man, yet feel something when you see an attractive woman, that must be what it feels like for a homosexual when they look at the same sex. They can choose whether or not to act on it, but that is to deny someone a lifetime of knowing intimacy with someone they love and that's just sad. I truly believe they are born that way and don't deserve to be hated or discriminated against. And that is just my opinion.

Marriage is between Man and a Woman.

When a Man and a Man or a Woman and a Woman can conceive a child together, I will rescind my thoughts.

Says who? The Constitution says rights come from out Creator. How did He create things to be? We don't read of Adam and Steve, but Adam and Eve... to quote a quip.

To turn an institution that has been around from the beginnings of mankind into something else is nothing but absurd. Why not make up a new name for the institution of man and man or woman and woman - but don't change the meaning of marriage. In California the voters confirmed marriage as a legal union between one man and one woman. That's millions of fairly liberal minded people who voted to maintain the legal definition that has existed for centuries and millenia.

And now, because you don't understand language or established culture you want to force a change in the definition and accepted norm of hundreds of generations?!

My guess is you don't have a clue what you're doing or thinking.

It isn't bigotry - it's realizing the established meaning of marriage in history and culture that our nation was founded upon. Why not go to a godless country that denies the creator and get them to establish this unnatural union?

Really... show me where the constitution says that.....

"To turn an institution that has been around from the beginnings of mankind into something else is nothing but absurd. Why not make up a new name for the institution of man and man or woman and woman - but don't change the meaning of marriage"
No change in meaning needed... marriage is a legal contract between two consenting adults. AS a contract it is gender neutral. Now tell me why you believe its ok to deny two u.s. citizens from entering into a civil contract.

" In California the voters confirmed marriage as a legal union between one man and one woman. That's millions of fairly liberal minded people who voted to maintain the legal definition that has existed for centuries and millenia."

In Virginia, the voters, via lawmakers, voted that marraige had to be the same race... that was thrown out... you know why... we do not vote on civil rights.

You do realize that we are not a theocracy... so your theologocal beliefs mean nothing to the law. You see your neighbor may have a holy book that says ssm is a good thing and their god approves of it... so whose holy book do we go by?... Answer neither we are not now, have never been and never will be forced to go by one persons holy book.

Now it is your turn to show where what you claim comes from. Where is this holy book that says ssm is a good thing and their god approves of it..."???? Where is it?

You do not get sarcasm do you. the point was not that there was such a book, but that even IF there was... it would not matter. Why.. say it with me... We are not a theocracy... we are not ruled by what anyones version of a holy book says...
