Marriage is a civil contract licensed by the state. There are NO religious requirements to obtain a marriage license.

Marriage is a gift from God, and is ment for Man and Women Unions. If Gay Folks want to live as Life Partners---fine. They can even have Life Partner Certificates to take care of the Legal issues. Marriage has religious overtones, and Homosexuality is NOT condoned in the Bible. So why should Gays want this Religious Union, when they are NOT supported by the same book. Seems contridictive to me.

Ohio Revised Code DOES NOT allow same sex marriages. And thank GOD this is so, as Marriage is for the union of man and women. Marriages DO have a strong religious start, and weddings were started in the churches. Even before the Churches, the Elder in a small town would administor the rights of marriage. The Elder also usually was considered the town's religious person or Elder, giving sermons and other religious rights. The Marriage Certificate came, as nothing more than a tax, on a blessed event. BUT THE TWO MEAN THE SAME----MARRIAGE!! Why would gays want a Marriage Certificate---when Marriage itself has Religious origins and these same origins condemn homosexuality. I would think they would want to seperate themselves from this idealism, and maybe go after a Life Partner Certificate. It may Legally mean about the same, but different in what it states. Marriage is for a Man and Women Union with Religious back ground. And Life Partners for same sex Folks.

God did not interfere with man making laws. God revealed His character. God said He is no respecter of persons, that He doesn't judge by outward appearance as man does but judges the heart, that He does not have a law against love, that He commands us to love one another, and that there is neither male or female: for we are all one in Christ Jesus. God reveals that nothing can separate us from the love of God. God says you shall know them by their fruit. Love is a fruit of the Spirit and a gift from God. In light of this if two adults love each other God pours out His blessings just and unjust. Since God's Character is to bless all; would you not desire to be a blessing to those who find happiness in equality including gay marriage? Even if you have not found happiness it is wrong for you to have ill will toward your fellow man. When you pledge liberty and justice for all you should not be lying about that. You should appreciate those who died for your freedom including the gay people who died for your freedom. If you don't support freedom toward those with love you are a traitor to freedom and a hypocrite. Even if you don't consent to homosexuality being right you don't deseve to play God in matters of free will which God gave each person. Gay marriage can not harm any heterosexuals love for their mate if their love is true.

saying "You should not" is not the same as saying "You may not". I don't just want the gov't out of my personal life, but out of the personal lives of others too.

So, they like peckers in their butt, or rubbing beavers? Some gay people have been awesome, some real buttholes. Same with straights. WHO are we to stand in the way of love?

I am married and not religious......there are more religions in the world besides ONE, suck it up and accept it. If its soooo wrong, why hasnt god struck those evil ones down???? What? He will judge them in the end???? Well, why the hell are you judging and even caring, its not your job, let your God do it his way and stay the hell out of it!!

This is how I look at it...

By definition... Marriage is the union of a "man and a woman" recognized by law by which they become husband/man and wife/woman.

If gays want to be united then call it something else. They can pretend all they want but they are not by definition "married".

Too bad in the US we have freedom of religion, so the bible has nothing to do with it.
