From the Christian standpoint, I must oppose gay marriage. In the Bible, God states in at least 6 places that practicing homosexuality is a sin, or an abomination, or wrong behavior, etc. There is no place in the Bible where God says it is ok to practice homosexuality, or where God is affirming, or condoning, or tolerant of practicing homosexuality. That pretty much says it all right there. However, to further bolster the argument, in the Bible, God tells us that the only way that two people can be joined in marriage in the eyes of God is if 1 is a female, & 1 is a male. Man can pass all the laws they want, but 2 people of the same sex can never be joined in marriage in the eyes of God. And in the 10 Commandments, God tells us that any sexual relations that occur outside the boundaries of marriage is adultery. Therefore, any homosexual relations are automatically adultery. Even if the 2 homosexuals have been married by man's laws, they still are not married in God's eyes (which is the only way that matters to a Christian), & each & everytime they have sex, they are committing adultery. Erstwhile from the secular standpoint, it doesn't really matter. The secular world has never really concerned itself with what is right or wrong, but only with what is convenient & politically popular. There is no right or wrong in the secular world. All people have some type of temptation to deal with, whether it be drinking, smoking, recreational drugs, child molestation, straight sex, wife beating, homosexual sex, etc. The temptation to perform these sins comes from Satan. Whether we are tempted or not does not matter to God. What matters to God is how we deal with this temptation. If we resist the temptation, we please God & exhult him. If we give in to the temptation & commit the sin, we let God down & He is not pleased. My heart goes out to anyone struggling with the temptation to practice homosexuality, just as my heart would go out to someone struggling with the temptation to molest children, or beat their wife, or get drunk. But just because I sympathize with them, does not mean I can condone their behavior. I encourage anyone struggling with the temptation to engage in homosexual behavior to go to the church of their choice & get counselling & ask God to give them the strength to resist that temptation. It won't be easy, but it will be the right thing to do. God bless you.

When God comes down from Heaven and tells me everything you just said is true,
that's day I will start believing you.

Marriage is an institution made up by the people for the people and
it's guidelines have been changed in the past to suit societies changes.

“I hate divorce,” says the LORD, the God of Israel,“because the man who divorces his wife covers his garment with violence,” Malachi 2:16

Yet society has legalized divorce.

Anyway, God never stated anywhere that he opposes gay marriage.

He only says that he dislikes the act of homosexuality.

THERE'S A DIFFERENCE

I try to keep an open mind on things, and gay marriage isn't affecting me in any way so I have no problem with it. To each his own.
