Im gay and are you aware of how many hours ive spent debating this same issue with people? TOO MANY. Leave it alone..It's ok if you don't support it, It's ok if you do..people are allowed to have opinions on things there is no right and wrong just what you believe..so LEAVE IT ALONE.

YOU be you I'll be me.

Do I wanna have the right to marry? Yes I do, sadly I need the approval of the government to do so, but do I care what you think? absolutely not. Im comfortable with who I am, with the person I love and that's it. You can tell me im going to hell a million times, but the only way we know for certain is when the time comes..all I know is I strive to be a good person and to live a good life and to be as happy as possible.

Kentucky? Allowing gay marriage? They wouldn't stop listening to their preacher to think outside the box for a second. They claim that they want to protect the sanctity of marriage, but they have no problems with shotgun weddings and divorces, which destroys any form of sanctity in a flash.

Here's how I see it. Marriage is merely a religious ceremony that was started centuries ago. A marriage license is something that was started much later by our government. The license ties you to a person so you're eligible for benefits, etc. I say, let couples get the license, and have their ceremony. The ministers that don't believe in gay marriage won't perform the ceremony, but the ministers that don't mind, will.

If two people share a home, bills, etc., why shouldn't they be entitled to share insurance policies, social security and what not? If both are contributing to each others livelihood, why should they be treated any different than a man/woman couple?

There may come a time. I've been around for a long time and there was a time divorce was a ugly word. Children born out of wedlock were talked about and ridiculed. If a girl had sex before marriage she got a reputation and was considered a tramp. Preachers were asked to leave their church if they divorced. There just may come a time when gay marriage is acceptable; maybe not in the next few years, but sometime in the future.

I'm good with them keeping it to themselves, in the closet I guess you'd call it. Tired of their preferences being shoved down our throats. Not for religious reasons as I could care less what the church's view is but just because I'm so repulsed by two men grabbing each others asses, kissing, etc. Not real fond of two women like that either although there are some freaks out there that get their thrills from lesbians.

I have a close friend in another state who is homosexual - I couldnt tell it when I'm around him and of course I dont push the heterosexuality thing on him either. When I visit him or he visits me it's just two friends from grade school getting together and talking old times and family. Nothing else comes to mind and thats the way it should be.

Morals such as meth and teen pregnancy? I guess since the Bahbull doesn't mention those two, it's alright.

saddens my heart to see such hate towards a group of people who probably have never did anything to you..Just because you don't agree with them, does not mean you have the right to belittle them or make them feel less than human.

If someone liked grape jelly and you didn't would you tell them they were wrong? I think not, so how is this any different? Just because a man wrote in a book that he thought it was wrong does not make you holier than thou to tell people how to live their lives. Just as long as they do not personally harm you it's none of your business. There's a lot of things in the bible that your people do on a daily basis but you don't see everyone up in arms over it do you?

Ger over yourselves. You are no better than anyone else.

did you know that I started a new job once and for a year I never told anyone about my sexuality (that I was gay) because I wanted people to like or dislike me based on who I was not for that fact.. I finally told most people and you'd be surprised how many people changed their opinions on homosexuality.. They didn't change their beliefs they still thought it was wrong, but they realized that we're no different than anyone else and most of us are the nicest people you'll ever meet. I'm the type of person who will give you the shirt off my back if you needed it. That that person that holds the door for you when your arms are full of groceries. I'm that person that gives you that extra dollar in the line at the gas station when your a little short handed. I'm that person who helps you get that cake mix off the top of the shelf because you can't find an associate and are having problems getting to it. Im that person that will stop on the side of the road to see if you need help changing a tire or someone to get a few gallons of gas for you because you ran out. I'm that person that gives food to the homeless man on the side of the street. I'm that person that donates money every single month to charity. I'm that person who picks up that 20 dollars bill you dropped and chase you down to give it back. I'm a good honest person who wants nothing but to help people out... people like you who would piss on my grave just because im in love with someone of my own gender.

It's easy to hate something you don't understand and will never begin to understand.

I'm so glad you posted this! I don't think most people look beyond a persons sexuality to see that there's actually a human being in there. I applaud you! I always ask the question, what if your child came home today and told you he/she was gay, what would you do, would you shun them, would you condemn them to hell. I never get a reponse to my questions. Most people don't think beyond themselves.

sadly people will completely avoid what I wrote, or will come back with some biblical statement disregarding that we are all human beings regardless of who we love, what we look like, who we believe..we all bleed..we all have a story...we've all been through pain and struggles in our lives. Honestly, for me and probably several others, it's not acceptance that we want..it's tolerance that we are people and we do have feelings and we all want the same thing in life..TO BE HAPPY. I'm just so glad that I'm not alone and I'm so glad that there are people out there who are able to open their minds even enough to say "Hey I dont agree with it but to each his own".

You're right, your post will either be ignored, or you'll get your daily sermon. When I try to speak out for lesbians and gays, I'm either ignored, or get a Bible scripture. You'll find plenty of people that are open minded, I think it's just hard to weed them out from the ones that want to be mean and cruel. There used to be a PFLAG organization in Leitchfield, but the last time I checked, there's no longer a chapter listed for the area. Good luck to you! I hope life treats you, and yours, well!
