There is no benefit to the nation, state or community from expanded rights.

This isn't about God. This isn't about benefits or otherwise. This is about according our fellow human beings the dignity of recognizing the depth of their commitment to their partners - something we've always granted to heterosexual couples. Anyone arguing for opposing it based on the "sanctity" of marriage need to go address those many fine folks who have made such a farce out of it as to render the "sanctity" of marriage a moot point.

Grant your brothers and sisters in Christ the dignity you'd want them to accord you.

Anyone who doesn't support homosexual marriage is a bigot, an idiot stuck in the past, or both.

Marriage is an institution founded in many articles of faith, i.e. the Bible, the Koran, etc. The Gay lifestyle is banned in the very same articles of faith, so gay marriage would be a corruption of faith. It isn't bigotry since it is a lifestyle choice.

So you seem to believe (incorrectly) that being gay is a lifestyle choice...it has been proven time and again that it is not in fact a choice, articles of "faith" have no bearing on whether or not gay marriage should be legal, as you should know by now there is a separation of church and state whether local or federal. How about you keep your "faith" out of the equation as it has no bearing on this matter. I could care less what you call it but it should be legal since many of us "happy gays" are spending our hard earned dollars to pay taxes same as you and we aren't allowed any of the benefits as couples unlike heterosexual couples are. I would love to see bigots like you go through what us "gays" go through and be able to survive it with your head held high, how about something happens to your wife or girlfriend and the hospital denies you access to their room as they lay their dying...try opening your eyes and attempting to be a person of faith that you are so quick to use as a tool to judge.

It shouldn't be legal. As time passes things are being more acceptable in our society and communities. What are we teaching the kids and youth? GOD is against it, and so should we. GOD made woman for man not man for man.

Oh NO!!! The attack of the killer "B" words lol

I'd like to see the "proof" that being homosexual is not a lifestyle choice.

Perhaps, because you're wired wrong somewhere, you have those feelings and impulses. That doesn't mean you have to act upon them.

Gay Marriage/relationships goes against the very laws of nature itself. Was never meant to be and is an abomination in the sight of God our creator.

It is so sad the way people look at things, now days. So Sad! Look at your partner, to even see the same sex in your arms, or, to be having sex with the same sex. Sick Thrills! That's all these people are looking for. People who go for anything! In the entertainment business you go this way, or any way, to get in. If you don't go this way, then they, the gays, do not let you "IN", You don't get in or go anywhere. You sell your soul if you want a career in the entertainment business. And, it's the thrill of this sick way of life for the most of them. That goes for the rich, also. It's so Shameful,Sad and Demeaning! Man-Up! Wake-Up!

The sanctity of marriage arguement is actually pretty funny...

Marriage has it's roots in property contracts !!
Take a look at the traditions of dowries... Yeah... nothing like PAYING someone to take your daughter off your hands to invoke holiness !

So let's get clear of the religious rhetoric and talk about people supporting each other through a shared life. THAT is what marriage should be about.
If marriage was about raising children, then couple that did not/could not/would not procreate should probably NOT be allowed to get married either (but that would ruin the man & woman argument wouldn't it...)

Get a grip - no one is forcing YOU to marry someone of the same sex so why do you care ?

Matthew 19:3-6

3The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

4And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Search; Log Cabin Republicans - Bob Barr
Bob Barr(R) Ga , was once a raging, bombastic conservative, now Bob has seen the light. Bob Barr actually wrote the Defense of Marraige Act, a thing,he now highly regrets doing. Bob Barr was selected to be the Keynote Speaker at the Gay & Lesbian Log Cabin Republican Convention in Dallas, Texas this spring. Bob Barr said he will work hard to repeal the DOMA and that he is now a Libertarian.

The Log Cabin Republicans also took credit at the convention for repealing the military's, "Don't ask,Don't tell" policy. The Log Cabin Republicans filed the lawsuit in Federal Court to repeal the policy.

It's moronic that this is even an issue in 2012. Who would gay marriage hurt? No one -- a marriage is a mutual decision by two consenting adults, and it's not anyone else's business. Why should it be banned? People are clamoring for "smaller government," but at the same time, they demand that the government deny rights to those whose personal decisions they don't approve of. What hypocrisy!
