Civil unions is one thing, gay marriage is another. Marriage is a religious union. Christian religion views homosexuality as a sin and not holy, therefore gay marriage would be against God. If God opposes it then I should oppose it as well.

This is one of those issues I could give a rats butt less about! the only part about I despise about homos is the fact that they use their sexual preferences to seperate themselves from everybody else, such as marches, rallies, and parades. who cares about some bent wrist's sexual preferences? just stop jamming it down everybodys throats , who cares if you like things jammed down yours?

WOW. How close-minded you are, mozilla (asshole). The only reason some homosexuals (and not ALL, you can't generalize. How hold are you again?) separate themselves is because of our society and how fucked it is; people like you with a lesser education, people like you who probably put down other people because of how sad you know your existence is. I can't believe you live somewhere in Lakeland.

What if a book said that you couldn't marry your husband or wife because they had the wrong organ, OH, and a bunch of random people who have no idea say it's bad. Wouldn't you object and hold rallies and marches to oppose that simple, silly idea? And let's face it, marriage isn't about "love" or "holy matrimony" anymore. It is about easier ways to pay the bills and keep the house in order (everyone is in denial about this. Divorce is the highest it's been in years.)

The bible isn't the only factor deciding on whether a whole GROUP of people get married or not. A whole group so large there aren't numbers. The bible isn't what everybody chooses to completely define their lives. If the bible really meant so much to some people, why do they keep judging others and condemning them, sleeping with neighbors wives and molesting kids? Isn't it silly to think that Jesus wanted exactly the opposite of what people preach -- kindness, respect; all things people gave up and forgot how to do? Keep beating your wife whom you married for "love," keep verbally abusing your families, cheating on your spouses, molesting your own children and then get back to me about how gay marriage is so wrong by Christian standards.

If you're against it, then you're ignorant. Everyone's different. Let people be themselves and let them marry who they want to marry.

If you're not gay why should you care? Doesn't affect you. Not going to make you "go to hell". What happened to "love thy neighbor"? We're all neighbors on "God's earth."

Marriage is about love not sex. If a random person came up to you and asked you if they have the right to marry whoever they choose you would not say only if that person is the opposite sex. You would say yes because that persons sexual orientation isn't a factor until you dig deeper into their personal lives. THEIR PERSONAL LIVES. You do not choose who you love. Love is love. Love is not gender or sexual orientation. Marriage is about love. You do not say I marry you because you are a man and I am a woman you marry because you love that person.

Those who oppose it are disillusioned or hateful. It's not even a question.
Marriage is a religious union for some, but that does not define it. The legal rights tied with it should be allowed for all.

The right to marry should be extended to ALL Americans. This is a lesson I would have hoped we had learned by now. Equal rights should mean EVERYONE, not just males, not just whites, but every single American, regardless of who they are or how they live.

Because we're all human. We all deserve some kind of rights. Some dudes marry dudes, get over it.

Marriage is a legal contract; religious reasons for or against marriage shouldn't matter. Separation of church and state, hello. People's lives shouldn't be dictated by YOUR religious books. That isn't right or constitutional. Gay marriage shouldn't even be an issue.
