Straight people do enough damage to their so-called sacred marriages without trying to blame others for the failure of marriage! Those who think being gay or lesbian is wrong 'according to the Bible' need to realize it's NOT YOUR LIFE and certainly NOT about YOUR Moral Code or YOUR God, but about a civil law and a right in the USA. That's all! IF what YOU believe will happen to YOU on judgement day, that's ON YOU, NOT FOR YOU to judge others with!

There have been too many deaths from hatred and wars on this earth in the name of God and/or the Bible. IF someone truly wants to honor their God, they would believe in anyone being able to love whomever they choose to love. Truly, what is wrong with MORE LOVE?

If you don't want one, don't get one and shut up. But what gives you the right to tell others how to live? I'm not gay myself but if I was I would want the same freedoms everyone else enjoys. It's outrageous that there are laws against this in the first place.

I believe God wants marriage to be between man and women, according to the Holy Bible.

I can understand your point, BUT it's YOUR belief, based on YOUR relationship with YOUR God. Fine, BUT the sin is ON THEM ... Right? Not for you to judge ... Right?

Please don't misunderstand my point, I could give a damn really. I just don't know what difference it makes to US when someone else sins ... It's their path to follow, AND we all have to find our own way, whether it be through sins or by going directly to a spiritual place in this life. Okay, so again, that's your belief ...

You do realize how many of those 'throughout human history' who as you say have been 'lead to all sorts of depraved and vile behavior' have been STRAIGHT and/or NORMAL as you would JUDGE according to YOUR Faith and YOUR God? Therefore, it's WRONG to put this JUDGEMENT on gays alone. Any good God would not accept you sitting in judgement of anyone else, right?

Unless you know anyone who is gay and/or lesbian PERSONALLY, it's highly doubtful you can understand the wrong sterotypes. Not unlike the prejudices held against women; blacks; foreigners; Jews; and on and on. We live, we learn.

We are all just people, ALL SINNERS, on OUR OWN PATH. With so much hatred in our world, with MUCH OF IT IN THE NAME OF GOD, it's funny to me when someone mentions the bible and excludes someone else. How can God be about love, without accepting EVERYONE?

Why is that contradiction allowed and/or accepting so willingly/easily by so-called God-loving people?

That's great Barbara, BUT we're NOT talking about what 'God wants' this is about CIVIL LAW.

I'd be interested to know what you think about my comments to the previous poster in regards to using God and the bible for project hatred to others. I'm not trying to have a battle of words, just looking to share thoughts and ideas about the subject, that's all.

KnKStrz, everyone, including you, makes judgments and it is based on our own moral compass. You appear to judge, based on your moral compass, that homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle and that anyone who does not agree with that is wrong, another judgment. Another person with a different moral compass judges that homosexuality is immoral and that people who disagree are wrong.

I think that people that use the government to determine their moral compass is heading down a slippery slope.

If people believe that marriage is between a man and a woman and should be entered into with Gods blessing, then they should not worry about what the government thinks and should only get married in the Church with which they feel most comfortable.

If a person thinks that marriage is simply a civil union between two people regardless of their religious beliefs, then they should go to the government for sanction of their marriage.

I personally think the government has lost their moral authority and I choose to not focus on the government when it comes to making my moral decisions.

The only problem I see with tolerant people like yourself, is you are extremely intolerant of opposing points of view.

Leviticus 18:22, 24

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind, it is abomination. Defile not yourselves in any of these things

Leviticus 20:13

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Eric; Would you like to live under all of the laws of Leviticus?

Grow up people. Mind your own bed and judge your own behavior. Pray for others you think are sinful,if you wish, but to disciminate against others is how the Muslim extremests became terrorist. Hate is a powerful door to open, do you really think you have the power to control it?

Trying to classify the fudge packers as married or sanctify their perversion under the same entity as marriage is wrong. I am not advocating death to these despicable people but certainly this act does not deserve to be legitimized and allowed the same classification as marriage which by the way is of biblical origination.

Right on! OUR Nation is about separation of church and state. Gay marriage is about changing civil law, NOT morals or anyone judging waht another does in their life.

KnKStrZ; Based on your previous statement, it is safe to assume that we should not have any laws that involve strickly moral judgement. Prostitution; paligimy; publix intoxication; should all be legal. Really, if you think about it, child support is really just a moral obligation, so government shouldn't be involved in that either. Where do you draw the line on government imposing laws on strickly a moral basis. Keep in mind what you think is immoral and what I think is immoral is two different things, so whose version of morality do we enforce?

It is outrageous that our society views the idea of gay marriage as something that is normal and to be accepted. This country will crumble and all of the things that made US great and all the success that people enjoy and take for granted will be gone and people will wonder what happened...
