You are going to stop the government from "redefining" GOVERNMENT institution?

You cannot deny people rights based on economic issues--especially insane, hysterical, non-existent issues. BTW--we are offering the partners of same-sex couples bennies. Marriage isn't the issue.

<quoted text>Gay marriage won't be banned, people will still have the right to go to their church for that religious rite. If a same sex couple marries and moves to Indiana, nothing about their love and commitment will be banned.
We'll just be stopping the government from redefining marriage. This issue is about law, taxes and entitlements. We can't afford same sex marriage because we don't want taxpayers to buy Viagra for the same sex partners of our schoolteachers and public employees.

Yes, I agree, The newspaper (The Indianapolis Star) does a good job of covering the gay trash parade. But, they run stories about every week supporting the gay community, so whats your point? I have seen stories about gays even if it is not in Indianapolis. I wonder how many people even read these stories. The Star's agenda? The vote is coming soon for the gay marriage ban.

They laugh at the gay pride festival? The newspaper seems to take it seriously enough. Must just be the trailer-park trash you live with.
Just curious--has any relative of yours dated outside the family?

The star covers gay stories because they are stories; it's what newspapers are supposed to do. How many people read them? How many people read any particular article?

The star is fairly conservative in policy, but they recognize the importance of legal parity.

My thanks to Vice President Biden because he voted to define marriage as one man and one woman when DOMA was enacted into law.

Same sex marriage would bring a new standard of segregation to perfectly integrated and diverse male/female marriage.

If you like disunity and prejudice, you are going to love gender segregated marriage. If you love unity, diversity and integration, keep marriage one man and one woman.

So glad that Christians are judging and deciding what THEY think I or anyone else should be doing or not doing. So you can quote the Bible for what we or someone else does, but quoting the Bible and following it yourself doesn't apply?
Matthew 7:1, "Judge not that ye be not judged."

For some people, religion is the number one reason to keep marriage one man and one woman. On my list religion is number 26.

Number one on my list is "america is not a theocracy" and so they can stick their superstitions up their anal cavities.

Your 1-25 are equally irrelevant.

That means 'gender equality' introduced by leftist secular extremists is as faith based as any religion.

Not unless you consider the constitution to be a religious text.

Even then, there is no gender equality right in the US Constitution. Holland, Belgium, Canada and South Africa all have gender equality written into their Constitutions, not the USA. All those countries allow same sex marriage, in the States, we have DOMA.

Although homosexuals have for decades claimed that they "were born gay", there isn't any legitimate scientific proof to support this claim. Until they can present credible evidence to support their claim there is no reason to legalize same sex marriage.

Not unless you can prove that heteros are born that way.

Millions of gays say that they were born that way and who should know better than them? Why isn't this enough proof? Why does it matter anyway?
