If 2 people love each other then they should be allowed to wed if they so choose. What is the big deal

It is a freedom of choice to wed and if 2 people of the same sex want to marry then let them. If they are denied their civil right to be married to a person of the same sex. Then we are stepping back in time to the dark ages.
It is their choice no one elses.

<quoted text>What about the Book of Leviticus which states "not to wear clothing made of more than one material." Do you follow that too or do you just cherry-pick things to justify your own bigotry and hatred? You know, Jesus Himself NEVER mentioned homsexuality. Jesus talked about things like being NON-judgemental, peace, love, compassion, and helping the sick and those less fortunate. Too bad more (so-called) "Christians" can't follow the teachings of JESUS rather than just condeming this, or opposing that or hating that. Sad....
First of all you don't know who Jesus is. Jesus is God. Jesus said before Abraham was "I AM" God is the one that gave the law before he came as Christ. The only way to get free of that law is to accept Calvary and repent, be baptized in his name and receive his spirit. Otherwise the law is for the sinner. So don't twist the word of God to make homosexuality ok.

ZERO percent of the LGBTQ community have abortions. Only 1.6% of gay men divorce their partners. Only 3.3% of gay women divorce their partners. OVER 50% of heterosexual couples get a divorce. Zero percent of gay couples have their children taken by social services for financial reasons, violence, and truancy. Domestic violence is far less in gay marriages than in heterosexual marriages. Apparently the LGBTQ community has something right. SHOW YOUR PRIDE.

If a reasonable argument against gay marriage exists, I have not yet heard it, and I have been paying attention to this for a long time. I know many loving gay couples who have been committed to each other for a long time.

We can't make social policy based on your beliefs. Give me a reasoned argument against gay marriage.

I don't condem the gay for their sexual tendancies. I don't believe gay marriage should be recognized by any state. In most cases the same rights results could be accomplished thru legal chanels such as Wills and Power of Attorneys. Recognizing these marriages will open up a big can of worms. What's next recognizing that people must get home from the bar after a drunk and recognize drunk driving? Gayness is a personal sexual preference or tendancy. I don't believe legal unions should be recognized by the state.
Your drunk driver analogy is what is called the slippery slope argument. It is a logical fallacy. That is the only argument you present, and it is a bad one. The rest is just about what you believe and we don't make good social policy based on belief but on reasoned arguments from evidence about what is good for the majority of the population.

Not allowing same-sex couples the right to marry due to "moral" or "religious" reasons isn't any better than the reasoning used to justify systems for racial segregation. Separate but equal, right? It isn't anyone's business who someone else marries.

Let them marry but NEVER give gays any rights. No insurance etc., I think it's Virginia is blocking everything for gays. So let them marry but block all rights they would have in a normal man and woman marriage. Not a gay basher but no rights!!
