I assume you are using "vs" to mean "with" or something similar, but, just FYI, it means the opposite, unless you are talking about something like a boxing match, where it could mean both, as the two contestants would fight 'with' each other and against each other.

ok lets see god made adam and eve right? not adam and adam or eve and eve so therefore u should marry a man if ur a woman and a woman to a man right?? paul marries sue or sue marries paul not paul marry a paul or sue marry a sue ! i mean common sence will tell u that !!!! I think gay marriage is so wrong but as long as i don't do it i'm fine with it cause who ever marries their own sex will have to stand before the lord one day for doing that ! SO IF U THINK IT'S RIGHT GO AHEAD AND LET THAT BE BETWEEN YOU AND GOD OK !!!!!

I personally think really funny that almost everyone here opposes marriage equality, and yet the only reason they're giving is because God didn't want it that way. And just to be fair I'll disclose that I'm a Christian, too, and have been all my life.

Do you know why it's funny? Because this is a legal issue. This does not have anything to do with what the church, or members of the church, believe about the topic. It's about every single citizen of this country having equal rights. You do agree that all humans are created equal, correct?

There's this thing called the separation of church and state. It's a very important thing in this country, and for good reason. That's what keeps one church denomination or religion from taking over the government. That's what keeps the government from enforcing rules coming from only one religious group, like Catholics or Muslims or Presbyterians or even Seventh-Day Adventists like me. The separation of church and state means that this is not, and ought not be, a Christian nation. Let me repeat that. THIS IS NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION. Yes, there has been a huge Christian presence in the government since the beginning, but the nation itself should not be governed by solely Christian principles. It should be governed based on freedom and justice and all those other Captain America-like qualities.

So in that case, what's wrong with marriage equality? Can you honestly give me a good argument for not letting men marry men and women marry women that doesn't involve religion? If you are able to come up with one, please, let me know, because I have yet to hear one. Freedom is the cornerstone of this country, not religion. If this sort of thing keeps up we won't have it anymore.

And that, ladies, gentlemen, and non-binaries, is why marriage equality should be A Thing That Happens.

Wow, Greenville. Just wow.
The only way love could ever be "wrong" or "sick" or "sinful" is if it's rape. Love, as long as it's consented, is love. There is nothing wrong with love. If you're all so religious why can't you learn to tolerate those who are different than you?

I can't wait move from this horrid town and away from all you bible-thumping hicks.

No two consensual adults should be prevented from being married because it makes some people uncomfortable. If it offends you and your God, then don't marry someone else of the same gender, but don't impose your theological views on other people.

Marriage is a human right and it shouldn't be up to anyone to decide otherwise. This topic shouldn't even be a political debate; it should simply be granted. This is the most important civil rights movement of our generation and it disappoints me so much that there are still people so close-minded and bigoted in our country. Our generation looks back at the mid 1950's through late 1960's and is disappointed in how the country handled segregation and the African-American civil rights movement. The "issue" of gay marriage today is no different. It is nothing more that discrimination and I know that if this "issue" continues to be debated and opposed, many generations to come will look back at this time with just as much disappointment as ours did with the first civil rights movement.
