So, if two siblings love each other, they can get married? Why or why not?

Is there an age limit? Why?

Are you sure you are not mistaking friendship for marriage?

If you dumb down marriage to that definition, you then open it to numerous relationships. Restricting it from other relationships and even the number of people becomes discrimination.

I suspect you took a gay twirl talking point and used it without thinking it through for yourself.

Busted...

Honey, we've tried this argument, over and over and over and over.

The only thing older than this argument is me, your dusty mangina.

We're pretty much embarrassing ourselves with this broken record routine. Help an inner lesbian out and come up with some new material.

I so well remember when people was saying " inter racial marriages are an Abomination unto God " That was when the majority white population did not want to see blacks & whites marry. Today the same sex marriage is exactly the same. Just the majority, as always through history, trying to tell the minority what to do !!!

Hardly the same.

Marriage has always been diverse gendered. Interracial marriages are replete through history in most cultures. Gay marriage? Never accepted in a single culture from beginning to end. It rarely and briefly shows up and never lasts.

Marriage is a cross cultural constraint on evolutionary mating behavior. Gay couples are a direct defective contradiction to the primary goal of evolution. Literally 'unmarriage'.

To equate gay couples to marriage, you need to dumb down marriage to a friendship. Something that even if the government didn't need a prevailing interest to engage in, would immediately be discriminator of both types of friendship, and the number of participants.

No YOU need to dumb down SSM to a friendship. Nobody else needs to do that to recognize SS relationships. We can't help it that you're unable/unwilling to wrap your head around the construct.

I have numerous friends that are in same sex relationships... I am a very proud supporter of gay marriage not only in Tennessee but everywhere... they deserve the same rights we do.. if you don't like it, don't attend... a lot of ppl don't agree with their daughter or sons partner, even though they are opposite sex, but you love your child so in the end you support them... why is this even an issue??? I don't get it... I talked a lesbian couple I know into having a commitment ceremony... since marriage is illegal here, they still have a gathering of family and friends, exchange vows and rings.. the only difference is they wont have that piece of paper stating they are married... I couldn't be happier for them...

very well said and I completely agree...

A marriage is a contract between two people who wish to join specific aspects of their lives. It involves getting a license from a government agency and then having a ceremony that is officiated by a government sanctioned, legally ordained individual.
It IS NOT a religious act UNLESS the couple wishes for the wedding ceremony to take place in a church before a minister.
If any two people wish to join their lives legally, as long as they are over a certain age and are not related by blood, then they should be able to create such a contract that is recognized by the state and federal government.
To withhold access to marriage is discriminatory!
If you don't want to support gay marriage, then do not enter into a same-sex marriage and by all means, do not attend a gay wedding.
BTW, no one is demanding that churches must perform same sex marriage. Gays and Lesbians are capable of finding supportive clergy or other legally ordained people to perform their ceremony.
As a law abiding, tax paying, resident I should have the right to marry whomever I please without government interference.
Besides, those who seem to be most vocally against gay marriage tend to be right-wing, conservative, Tea Partiers, who CLAIM to want less government intrusion into the liberties of private citizens. When they insist that government deny people the right to marry they are being HYPOCRITES!!!!

Sorry honey, there is no such thing as gay 'marriage'. At it's most basic essence, marriage is a cross cultural constraint on evolutionary mating behavior.

Gay couples are not only just a redumbant half of that, they are a direct defective contradiction of the core goal of evolution. Epigenetics are quickly proving that homosexuality is caused by a epi-marker mistake.

You're kidding, right? Interracial marriage is relatively new. VERY few cultures in the world have practiced interracial marriage in the past. In this country alone, it was illegal from the mid 1600s until 1967.

Tribes around the world were at war with one another. Marrying a person of a different religion or ethnicity was very rare.

So don't come on here and act like it's been a common practice throughout history. It hasn't been.

There is, but you're too stupid and too stubborn to realize it.

I'd tell you to go schtup yourself, but then you'd try to put that flap of skin you call a penis near me and that would be icky.

Sorry to burst your bubble, sweetpea, but same-gender marriage is a fact in eleven countries around the world and in ten states here in the U.S.

You can stomp your feet and shake your fist at the sky, but nothing is going to change the fact that same-gender marriage is real.

Words of a want-to-be sociologist and scientist...

"Marriage is a cross cultural constraint on evolutionary mating behavior."

"Homosexuality is caused by a epi-marker mistake."

I challenge anyone to look up any of these terms; specifically the "epi marker mistake" term, to see if they have ever been written or spoken by anyone other than Kimare.

They haven't! He makes this stuff up as he goes along.

For a defunct minister who was chased away by his previous congregation, he certainly believes that he knows a lot about science.

HA! What a joke...

Ezekiel 16:49 Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.

(nothing about homosexuality there)

And let's talk about the "hero" of the Sodom and Gomorrah. Supposedly there were a bunch of "gay" guys outside of his home; demanding that he send out the visitors so that they could rape them.

Do you know what Lot does? He says "NO!" But then he offers to send out his daughters instead--so that they could be ravaged by the so-called gay guys.

First off, what kind of father offers to send his daughters out to be raped?

Secondly, why would he think a bunch of gay guys would want his daughters? Maybe they weren't gay. Maybe they were just an angry mob of men who, in their day, frequently mistreated strangers--including raping them--kind of like how prisoners rape one another to establish dominance.

This whole "Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because of homosexuality" thing is VERY suspect.

Just because you've heard a preacher talk about it from the pulpit doesn't mean it's a correct interpretation. Remember, preachers used to insist that slavery was condoned by scripture. You can't trust everything you've heard from the pulpit.
