That, or you realized you opinions were completely out of touch with the UCC. You probably realized that most pastors are compassionate people, and you're just a school-yard bully.

You responded to the basic essence of marriage by stating it had been 'corrected' numerous times. Noting other statements about marriage does not 'correct' anything. None of those changed the basic essence of marriage.
Bottom line? You have failed to establish why gay unions out of all relationships should be equated to marriage.
What I do remember on my marriage license is 'bride & groom'. However, by your 'logic', unless every aspect of marriage is listed, anything can be added to marriage. A stupid and childish argument.
As to 'sonne of mann', don't act so sanctimonious. You participated in ignorant slander. I was protecting a woman and her four sons from a psychotic predator. My family and I do willingly pay a price. The legal and mental health professions have been involved, and he has spent time in jail as a result.
Here is the clicker; You have no argument with reality, so you align yourself with a man talking King James English who wears a long white robe and lets his hair and beard grow. Just another reality check on how low you stoop to justify a imposter relationship because of a defective condition.
You only validated my position VV.
Thanks!
Smile.
The truth--the facts--are that many marriage certificates no longer include the words "bride and groom". They use "person 1 and person 2".

And you proved my point by finally admitting that you did not have to pass any kind of test indicating that your marriage would continue "a cross cultural constraint on evolutionary mating behavior."

It mentioned nothing like it at all.

When applications to marriage begin to include a requirement such as this, get back to me.

Regarding the guy who hounded you, I have not "slandered" you. Nor did I "align" myself with him.

It's obvious, by his letters, that he was psychotic--at least manic. No one writes the way he writes without having some serious mental health issues.

However, he did, in fact, create a great deal of strife for your family. In effect, he did "win". He was able to cause enough trouble for you and your family that you had to react.

My professional opinion is that you probably should have involved mental health experts and legal assistance long before he got to the point that he did.

From what I was able to gather--you can correct me if I'm wrong--you were involved with him and his family for quite some time.

To anyone with any training, you should have seen what was coming down the road LONG before he became so unhinged that he pulled up all of your personal information and spread it across the Internet.

I suspect (total speculation on my part) that you tried to handle it on your own for too long. And that's how it got so out of hand.

Bottom line, you made mistakes. And you and your family had to pay a huge price.

My question to you, which you did not respond to, is "Did your experience with this guy leave you bitter and angry?" Is that why you come to this website and fight so doggedly?

There is no other obvious reason.

Same-sex marriage will never have a direct impact on you. Homosexuality will never have a direct impact on you.

And yet you have come to this site and repeatedly made nasty comments and spread completely misinformed lies about the LGBT community.

I'm only interested in getting to the bottom of your crusade against us.

And while you may find it offensive for me to say this, you exhibit many of the same issues and doggedness as the man who hounded you and your family. You have unleashed your own fury and rage against our community. You have twisted and distorted information to a dangerous level--putting others in harm's way by repeatedly stirring anti-homosexual sentiment. You fan the flames of hatred with your words.

It is not uncommon for folks who have been "kicked" to turn around and "kick" others.

That is why this information has been so helpful in trying to understand your motivation.

Hardly. Our Association voted to oppose calling gay unions marriage.

The UCC is a rapidly dying denomination. It's apostasy is only expediting it's demise. Just a side note. I Pastored one of the largest Churches on the Island.

After being corrected, you add to clearly slanderous speculation with even more. with all due respect, that is more of your unprofessional on line diagnosis tactics based on bitterness and rooted in denial.

1. Anal sex is inherently harmful, unhealthy and demeaning.

2. At it's most basic identity, marriage is a cross cultural constraint on evolutionary mating behavior.

Gay couples are at the opposite spectrum. A direct defective failure of the primary goal of evolution.

Simple facts you have no defense for, because they are pure truth.

Our association is OnA. My former congregation voted to become an OnA congregation when I chaired the LGBT concerns committee. Yes, we lost a very few members, but that congregation continues to grow monthly SINCE becoming OnA. We've had straight couples with children seek us out BECAUSE of our welcoming position toward everyone. One of the largest churches in the country is and OnA church in Texas.

The UCC is hardly the only mainline denomination that is declining in membership.

At the end of the day, thousands of LGBT couples are STILL married and you can't do sh1t about because all you have are opinions.

Here we go again. Anal sex, anal sex, anal sex, anal sex...

Clearly you're only discussing male-male anal sex.

In a study done by the Centers for Disease Control, 36 percent of men and 31 percent of women admitted to having anal sex.

But you always tend to shy away from those kinds of numbers; preferring to suggest that heterosexual anal sex is TERRIBLY taboo. But the numbers beg to differ.

Here's a question; if two men only engage in oral sex, is that OK? What if they only engage in tactile intercourse? Does that calm your nerves?

And being more than a "one trick pony, you trot out your ridiculous, totally contrived "cross cultural constraint" definition of marriage; which is utter bullshit.

Tell me, how much intercourse do you believe takes place around the world that is not done for the primary goal of evolution/procreation?

A 2010 study funded by Trojan (the makers of condoms) found that the average American (18 and over) has sex 120 times a year (2.3 times per week).

Based on the 2010 U.S. Census Report there were 214,128,094 people aged 18 and older living in the country.

If the primary drive for sexual intercourse was evolution/procreation and not pleasure or relationship building, then there should have been about 25,695,371,280 (that's billion) births in the U.S. in 2010.

Now compare that number to the actual number of births in 2010, which was 3,999,386.

Obviously, people are having intercourse for other reasons than procreation and evolution.

Bottom line; anal intercourse appears to be almost as popular among women as it is men. And your cross cultural constraint definition of marriage continues to hold no water.

How's this, then? You don't get to be the judge and jury regarding other peoples sexual habits. Your obsession with anal sex is merely a trolling technique.

It's not relevant to your life, just as you're not relevant to our lives.

Gay 'marriage' is a imposter, fake, counterfeit relationship pretending to be something everyone knows it is not.

Even a child can see the difference.

Facts and numbers mean nothing to him.

He has a death grip on his own contrived definition.

It's time to choke him out like the weed he is.

I say we stop responding to his comments.
