Marriage is between a man and a woman. I have yet to see a gay couple pro-create

God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Adam or Eve and Eve.

But they often adopt the kids that were made with irresponsible hetero relationships, and according to studies, they make great parents.

I wasnt aware infertile couples and old couples weren't allowed to marry too.

Marriage didnt start as love anyway, if we changed marriage before we can do it again.

well... i want a good reason not to support it. will it cause turmoil? will people die? its time for a serious change... equal rights is a thing for a reason... if you want to marry who you want to marry why should that be confined to sexuality? love is love! <3

People should marry who they want to marry, end of discussion. How does it hurt anyone? I don't give a damn who you marry so long as if makes you happy, and frankly, we need as much happiness as we can get in this world.

The reason to oppose it is because it is unnatural, since same sex couples can not pro-create, it seems clear to me that it is because it was never intended to happen. Personally if it is a choice then make another choice, if being homosexual is decided at birth then it does not change my position on it was not intended, much like my condition was not intended or my downs sons condition was not intended, it is a fluke of nature. Anything that is an unnatural act, I think, should not be supported. When we see 40 year old men marrying 16 or 17 year old girls we all whisper and talk about them because today it seems wrong even though early on in this country it was normal practice. Homosexualism will never be a excepter practice cause it is unnatural

A) to call it unnatural is a lie. There are MANY MANY species of animals that have homosexuals in them. You may call it rare, but not unatural by far. Funny thing what is unnatural is marraige. Only 15 species of animals mate for life (marriage) so that is far more unnatural.
B)same sex couple s can not procreate.... when did procreation become a prerequiste for marriage?... Are you going to deny marriage to all who can not or do not wish to procreate?

"Personally if it is a choice then make another choice, if being homosexual is decided at birth then it does not change my position on it was not intended, much like my condition was not intended or my downs sons condition was not intended, it is a fluke of nature."

A) they the homosexual did not choose their sexuality any more than you did. Unless you can tell me you actually made a conciouse decision to be attracted to the opposite sex.
B)You mentioned your condition and your kids condition was not inteded. How would you feel if someone said because of your condition you can not marry?.... Or if your son fell in love but was denyed marriage do to his down syndrome condition. Would you be ok with that . If not... what is the difference... per your words your condition your sons and that of homosexuals were a "fluke of nature or unnatural". If you are ok with this... shame on you.

"Anything that is an unnatural act, I think, should not be supported. "

So you do not fly... unnatural for people to fly... do you drive ... again unnatural... but I bet you support those. Also I would hope you support your child with his downs syndrome. Per your words it is unnatural... yet I bet you support it.

You find it unnatural... fine. So should we deny government granted benefits to all u.s. citizens with an "unnatural condition"... or only those who you dislike

Those species do not only have homosexual relationships or their species would not exist today. Now when you talk about conditions being unnatural that a person may have, blind, deaf, downs, or some other defect, well those people do have to live within the boundaries of their limits. We dont give people who cant see a drivers lic. Like wise we should not support gay marriage. Look it is just my opinion not worth to much comment on my part. Everyone knows that they will get the right to marry later or soon, homosexuals are makin a lot of noise so they will get the grease. Just a matter of time.

Ya... and homo sapiens do not only have homosexuala relations. Most are hetero (as in all species tat have homo. in them) which is why homo exist today. Further proof that our species is not unlike the others.. or
unnatural"

Umm all people live with in their boundries of limits... i stopped growing at 5 6 I knew I had no chance at the NBA. So your point is moot.

Here is the deal.. we dont give a d.l to a blind person for good reason.. you need to see to drive.
What good reason is there for not allowing ssm?.... Children?... not until procreation is mandatory for marriage?... So what reason is there? What can a osc couple do which a ssc can not?...

You never answered my question.. since you said your sons condition was "unnatural" would you accept someone telling him he could not get married due to his condition?

I hear what u are saying and I am pondering that right now.
I guess if my son were tryin to marry another man I would accept them questioning his mental processes. If he was wanting to marry a women, then questioning his ability to understand what being married means seems logical. I tell him he cant get marrie now. Cause to me he is unable to tend or deal with life without someone checking behind him everyday, although the kid does work and earn money. So I will have to keep pondering. You have caused me to think, but religiously speaking I think I will just have to stick by I believe it wrong so I can not be a supporter, but i am not a hater either.

The point is assuming he was a full functioning mentally accute person with downs, would you have an issue with someone telling him he can not marry his girlfriend just due to his down syndrome....

I get your "religious" argument. But I go back to it i is not a religious matter. It is legal. Just as you would not want your son to be denied benifits given to others simply because of his d.s. gays should not be forced to accept less either.

I understand it is a legal issue and not a religious one, really I do. But most of the time when ask a question I try to be open minded but my religious beliefs always come out. I have a pretty good understanding of the law, well from a correction officer point of view anyway, for me it always comes back to my religious view, which honestly I do not mean ti try to put off on anyone else, cause lord knows I am not the perfect person either, not even close. Anyway thanks, I am still pondering.
