Religion should not dictate our government's marriage laws. To the government, marriage is a civil contract. The government can't force a minister, priest, etc. to marry a homosexual couple, but a religion can't force the government not to recognize a homosexual couple.

There is nothing wrong with gay marriage, it's the same as heterosexual marriage. People are just too blind to realize that.

We can't teach the bible in schools or even celebrate religious holidays. Why bring it up when it come ti get marriage. That the same as telling people they can not practice religion freely, maybe in they gay community they have their own damn bible that says men can't marry women. Just be quite nobody is making you go into a gay marriage. You don't have to marry the same sex. Why for gay people to marry either marry the opposite sex or not get marries at all. Its their decision how would you like it if the government told you that youncant have any kids because they may turn out simple minded just like the rest of the people so worried about what happens behind their closed doors. Ill bet you guys opposing gay marriage are all our nosey neighbors that have no friends. Your just jealous because you don't have the gonads to come out of the closet yourself! I am straight but I will tell you I would rather have one hundred gay friends then one straight friend that is as judgmental as the people who Nash gays and gay marriage.

Have fun, be free. You only live once and I wish all the luck to you guys and gals. You don't choose who you fall in love with so there is no reason why you can't be married w

Actually no.... There are many many species of animals which have homosexuals among them....

Technically what goes against nature is marriage... there are relatively few (less than 15) animals who mate for life (marriage). So going by your "not natural" reasoning we should do away with marriage... period.

Why not marry a manaquin or other object or animal? Marraige is something between a man and a woman so those other things are partnerships or fixations or hobbies.

Fortunately the United States is not ruled by the words of God, you're thinking of the Middle East.

Actually marriage, legally speaking which is all that really matters in the ssm case, is a binding contract between two consenting adults. Such contract gives them government granted benefits, both monetary and legal. So tell me why two u.s. citizens should not be allowed to enter into such contract?

There is no reason. The same question was thrown around when biracial marriage was illegal.

Agreed. I keep asking anti ssm people this question and never get a real answer... I get theological arguments, which since we are not a theocracy doesnt matter, I get all sorts of other fallacious arguments... but none that tells why it is ok to discriminate....
