Marriage is not an entitlement. It is a right given to those that uphold the value it stands for. Every "civilization" that has embraced homosexuality has ceased to exist. Beyond that we fail to reconize the door that is opened by this issue. Incest, multiple spouses, etc. When we take the fence post away the fence can no longer hold in or hold out what it did before. Marriage between a man and a woman is a right earned and the fence post to our standard as a society

The question that needs to be brought to light is not whether or not traditional "marriage" should be allowed, but whether or not two people (any two people) that want to spend their lives together can receive the same benefits that the current system supports. Arguments of "it's disgusting" or "it leads to other immoral behavior" is not a legitimate or factual reason to deny citizens of this country the same benefits that a man and a woman receive. Just because you do not like something doesn't mean that other people should suffer.

Where do you get the idea that any civilization that has embraced homosexuality has collapsed and no longer exists? I imagine you are referring to the Greek and Roman Empires, but do you really think that their collapse was, in any shape or form, due to the fact that they accepted homosexuality? In today's era, would you call Denmark a collapsed civilization? Or the other 7-10 nations that currently accept homosexuality as "uncivilized", including Canada, Belgium, and Spain?

In sum, the statement "marriage is not an entitlement" maybe you are correct, but civil liberties should be entitled to ALL American citizens, regardless of your sexual orientation. If you truly believe they shouldn't receive the same benefits as you or I, why stop at the benefits from marriage?

If two same sex couples want to spend the rest of their lives together who are you to say "that's disgusting" or "MY god doesn't approve of that" and in turn deny them the benefits that are associated with marriage?

The plumbing just AIN'T right !! Our GOD made us to be creative and multiply to serve HIM . 2 men CANNOT make a baby and 2 women CANNOT make a baby. SO if everyone plumbing his or her own kind- the humanrace would END.Ever seen a HAPPY queer- don't look GAY to me. Hate the sin-LOVE the sinner.Civil liberties should be granted BUT not by preference. Should child molestors have liberty to continue their preference ? Those that prefer animals for partners ? ADAM and EVE not ADAM and STEVE.Don't bring this GREAT NATION down because you feel queer !!

no, YOUR god made us to be creative and multiply. Quit placing your BELIEFS on other people. Based on your approach that humans are supposed to procreate, what about men and women that are infertile? Should they be treated the same way? If they are no longer able to serve YOUR god and their "plumbing just AIN'T right" then your approach should be the same, to deny them "god given rights". Also, beastiality and pedophilia are illegal in this country, being gay is not, which I assume you think should be illegal so that argument of mine is probably futile. Continue to be intolerant of human beings that don't fit your profile of a "moral" being.

Sodomy between two members of the same sex is illegal in the State of Louisiana(and some other states too.)The practices of so-called gays are illegal. Infertility is the same as any other medical condition- a blind man can praise GOD. But practicing homosexuals are going to hell- the Bible said so and IT is the TRUTH>.I'm tolerant of body odor but I wear deodorant.

Until people quit telling others how their god wants people to live we will always have these controversies. Why you care that someone goes to hell is beyond me. Be responsible for YOUR life, not the lives others. If you believe that they are doing something immoral then fine that is your right to have an opinion, take that opinion to the grave, but don't bring those that "sin" down. In no way shape or form does it affect people that members of the same sex are having relations... unless they WANT it to. Denying citizens SOCIETAL RIGHTS because of INDIVIDUAL BELIEFS based off religious ideology is not just in our society.

And yes, I realize that many of our laws follow the gospel of Christianity, but really, does your God need to tell you to be kind to one another? Not to deceive fellow man? Not to steal from one another? Not to kill another human? Over the thousands of years of society do you think humans are too stupid to figure that one out on their own? Without the "shining light" of God All Mighty we wouldn't have discovered this out?

By the way, if one day scientists prove that homosexuality is linked to a genotype and is consistent amongst homosexuals will you admit that being gay is a medical condition?

Homosexuality is a behavioral choice as any sexual behavior is. A person can be conditioned to accept the abnormal as normal. Homosexuality was considered a mental illness until the 1960's freelove movement started a downward trend. Murdering babies(ABORTION) in the womb became more acceptable and legalized as a form of birth control. We as a society have allowed the government(of the Greatest Country in history) to make moral decisions for us. As can be in the state of California (recently) the WILL of the voting PUBLIC (Proposition 8)was overturned by reputed Homo judge.
Answer this question- Why are we here on earth ? There was a time when you were not but there will NEVER be a time when you WILL not be. Its not the JOURNEY it is the DESTINATION-where are you going ? We can have opinions and strong feelings on many different issues but we are here to WORSHIP our CREATOR and HELP our fellow man. God loves you. There is HOPE where there is LIGHT>

A cult in Pitkin brought me back from the dead, however they were fresh out of "hair from a virgin that isn't related to you" so instead of bringing down death and destruction to the Ft. Polk metroplex area I just post on the internet.

You people don't make it any easier for me either. Can this forum get interesting at all, please?

It is a fact that single taxpayers pay a higher tax rate than married taxpayers. If the law requires certain people (homosexuals) to remain single, making it illegal for them to marry, then that is discrimination, and it is unconstitutional. Taxing homosexuals at a higher tax rate than heterosexuals are taxed at is blatant discrimination, and it is prohibited by the Constitution. Forcing people to remain single all their lives and thus, forcing them to pay higher taxes all their lives, violates the equal protection clause of the U.S. Constitution.

bembh:
Male/ female created He them. Marriage is for male female according to the Constitution. Way before
the Constitution was written it was always Male/Female. Same sex marriages are not being discriminated againts and Homosexuals are not force
to pay higher taxes. You guys want the American Gov. to give yall special rights, That would violate the Constitution and discriminate against heterosexuals. The Gov. isn't forcing Homosexuals
to remain single," thats only in your mind". When the Constitution was being written, Male/Female was the only people that Married, Same sex marriage
was aganist the laws of the lands. THE WRITERS of the American constitution did not have Rights for Homosexuals and same sex marriages on their minds only Male/Female.
I am writing this with all due respect Sir, If you desire have same sex relationship you are free
to do so. To ask me a tax payer to give you special rights is absurd. If someone try to hurt you because you are a homosexual or desire same sex
marriage, the law protects you.

bigman, your bigotry is showing. Just because I point out that homosexuals are being discriminated against by the IRA, you automatically assume I'm a homosexual. That in itself is bigotry, pure and simple. You are also incorrect when you say that marriage is for male and female according to the Constitution. The Constitution says absolutely NOTHING about marriage. You also say that the government isn't forcing homosexuals to remain single. Excuse me, but isn't that precisely what this discussion is all about? Denying homosexuals the right to marry IS -- and you cannot argue with this -- forcing homosexuals to remain single. If the only two options are "married" or "single," and the government says you cannot marry, then you are being forced to stay single. That means you are being forced to pay higher taxes simply because you are not -- and CANNOT -- married. And unless you have magical powers, there is absolutely no way you can know what the writers of the Constitution had on their minds when they wrote it.
