Marriage should be between two people who love one another not reserved for a select group. It is unconstitutional to allow a vote on civil rights. Keep religion out of it or deny all divorce.

It's a CIVIL RIGHTS issue. Everyone should have the right to marry, regardless of race or sexual preference. As long as it's two consenting ADULTS without coercion.

Decatur, I am dissapointed in you!! We are supposed to be a liberal oasis in a red sea of bigotry. Everyone should love who they love. There is nothing you can do to make it wrong.

I'm sorry, but people are people, and they should be allowed to love and wed whoever they want.

Why should the government dictate second class status to an entire group. This isn't the 1860's. Oh, and keep your religion out of government and my civil rights!

Why not? For years we have allowed a "holly" man and woman marriage that ends in divorce and that is okay but we cannot allow two loving people to marry just because they are of the same sex...?

I believe everyone deserves the right to legalize his/her love. I'm Catholic, but I'm sure the man I know as Jesus Christ would want equal treatment for all, and legalizing Gay marriage will not only give gays the right to marry a loved one, but it will also bring society one step closer to letting go of homophobia.

The Bible clearly states that homosexuality is sinful. If gays want the rights associated with marriage, fine. But marriage, a biblical principal, should be left as God intended it-between a man and a woman.
