It is a fundamental right of this nation to have equal protection under the law. Denying marriage benefits to a certain group of people is not equal protection, and the government clearly has no compelling interest to do so. Gay marriage should be legalized.

To me this doesn't fall as much under just "Gay Rights" as it does basic "Human Rights". Different people have different opinions on just what "Marriage" means and stands for. To some it is the bonding of your lives together under the eyes of God. To others it's simply a piece of paper and changes nothing within their relationship. Then again to some it's a certificate of Ownership and is misused quite often. I do believe that Gays should have the same rights to share their lives and if Marriage is an important part of that process, they should not be denied that right. People seem to think because they may have what appears on the outside to be an "Unconventional Household" that Gays & Lesbians can't have a Normal, Spritually, Morally and Community centered lifestyle and have just as functional a family unit as Heterosexuals. BUT, that is completely UNTRUE, as I have seen Same Sex couples with children and they are some of the most Loving, Caring, Supportive and Nurturing family untis I've ever witnessed. Maybe because they have to fight so hard for it everyday, and for the rest of the world, being a parent doesn't come with a series of questions about "motives and possible unwholesome Agendas" as well as the persecution and double time they put in as parents to try and shelter their children from the world's attacks. Love is Love and Kindness is Kindness. Hate is still Hate, no matter what wrapper you put it in. Even trying to hide it behind someone's idea of a "Morally Proper" law. But who really has the right to decide what is right and wrong when it comes to simple, natural Love between two consenting adults. This world is falling apart and no one seems to be woried about the mess we're leaving our children. I think there are BIGGER issues to be concerned with than worrying about keeping two people who Love each other from making the same commitment most of us want. Instead of wasting more and more money on these stupid and continual "Moral Judgements" that do more hurt than help, maybe this government and this world's people should start paying attention to being part of the solution instead of adding another problem to our worlds already overbloated list of unnecessary and devastating "emotional baggage" issues. This is starting to get like reading "The National Enquirer". Just lots of uninformed rhetoric and hate filled lies. No truths.

"Might" is spelled "Might". And you're partial and embarrissingly written "point" is obviously from a very small mind. Please use proper English if you're going to try and make a point. Especially if you're going to be attacking people. You look rediculous. And your name fits you fine. You are NoOne. Noone who matters anyway. I support our 1st amendmant. And I support the Right to Love.

Human Beings who want to share and bind their lives together in the eyes of the Lord should have the rights to the 1st amendmant as much as any other Americans. Regardless of Gender. Love is Love, and in this world today, it's not so abundant.

And mankind is destroying this world. What's your point? Stop using OLD & TIRED cliche's and use some intellect to make your points. Otherwise they're about as important to this conversation as a blank page. This is 2010. Grow up. Hate is the last thing this world needs now and your closed minded, rediculous comment just shows which side of the IQ fence you stand upon. What are you doing to HELP this world besides sitting back and pointing fingers, spreading uneducated intolerance and writing incomplete, partial, irrelevant sentences? I didn't think so.

God put man and woman on earth for a reason. God did not mean for 2 guys or 2 girls to get together

And God came to you and told you this firsthand? Could you have Him give me a call too? I'd love to clear a few things up hearing it straight from God's mouth and not the small mind of someone with such an obviously low IQ who can't even end their (partial)sentence with a period. Again, can anyone actually string something by way of a complete point here? Otherwise you're just making more of a point for future enforced birth control amongst Heterosexuals.

I vote that i support gay marriage because you cant help who you love and if a man and a woman can get married why not a woman and another woman or a man and a man. If abortion is legal (which it shouldnt be) then gay marriage should be legal!

And to the person who said that this is might be a country of freedom but not gay men; You are ignorant! Freedom is not being told who you can and cant marry or love for that matter. And by the way that you type and use your grammer, it sounds like you are just a redneck hillbilly. Just wait for the time to come when you fall in love with your cousin and cant get married. Then you will be in the same boat with the gays, except they deserve the right to get married! Who are they hurting? No one! If anything they are helping people.....a lot of gays want to get married and adopt children, so what does that do? Help out children out there who dont have homes or families!
And in my opinion....if god cant love someone who is gay because its "against the bible" then he must not really love any of you for passing your judgement on people which is also against the bible right????

(btw.....I posted that above that the name was .......)

God gave us three great gifts: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love. Discrimination is discrimination. It's wrong.

I support legalizing same-sex marriage. It is the logical and fair thing to do.
