Not only is not allowing people to marry who they wish a violation of our constitutional right to the pursuit of happiness, but gay people are human beings just like the fetuses pro-lifers try so hard to save from abortion. They deserve the same rights other human beings have.
If you oppose abortion AND gay marriage, you're a fucking hypocrite.

i agree.... love is love, n if gays do get married, they should have the same rights as a straight couple...ex---insurance policies, and anything else...hell when they get a divorce, they should be allowed alimony, child support also...

I prefer another term than "marriage," such as civil union but support the concept. Having a Gay member of my family, I now realize that homosexuality is not abnormal and they were created and made that way by the same God that made heterosexual people. If you believe being Gay is wrong then God made a mistake (and I don't believe he makes mistakes).

Gays are not abnormal. It is estimated that 20% of the human race (1 in 5 people) are either homosexual or have homosexual tendencies. They did not choose to be gay any more than "lefties" choose to be left-handed. They were created by the same God that created heterosexuals so to say it is wrong to be a homosexual is to say that God made a mistake (and I don't believe he makes mistakes). Gay marriage is fine by me (and I'm certainly not Gay).

The government should not be able to decide whether or not the love shared between two consenting adults is legitimate.

Really????? Give me the scientific source of this. Kinsey (lied) and estimated it at 10%, which was a joke, and is probably actually closer to 3%.

For those who think taht everyone should be able to marry who ever (or is it whom ever?) they want, how come I can not marry my sister? All the states outlaw this. It's just wrong. Love is love, isn't it?
Or what if I want to marry my goat? Love is love, isn't it?
So you see, most intelligent people will agree that society does have a right & reason for putting certain limitations on marriage.

Also, did you finally hear that the Calif. Judge who overturned the will of the people, is "OPENLY HOMOSEXUAL". Why has the media barely mentioned that? Could that have anything to do with his ruling?

Civil unions...go for it.
Gay marriage...not so much.

No problem here with the term "civil unions," as long as it carries the same governmental rights, privileges that go with marriage i.e. the right to adopt and raise children, the right of dower-courtsey in states that recognize it now (what's the wife's also belongs to the husband and vice-versa...Kentucky is one of these states). Marriage has always been a "religious" union and for lack of any better term, our forefathers used the same terminology for "civil" marriages.
Some people choose to be married by a Judge or Magistrate or any duly-appointed marriage performer. Does this make them any less married in the eyes of the State? Of course not. Civil unions could be the same including the right to have a ceremony recognizing such... It doesn't have to be a Marriage Certificate.
It can be a "Civil Union Certificate," just be sure it has the same power as far as legality (not spirituality - that's left up to the denomination to decide) as "Marriages." No argument here.
Come to think of it, look how much more money the lawyers can make when they split up!!!

Opposition, just like freedom of speech is a constitutional right also. If a person only likes underaged sex partners and/or companions, are we violating their constitutional right to pursuit of happiness. It is the simple reality of nature, whether you believe in god or not, that humans are still on this earth because they can reproduce. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!

Being gay is an abomination. Gay marriage is wrong.
That's just the way it is. No intent to hurt anyone's feelings. Right is right and wrong is wrong. You can't straddle a fence.

Intolerance is an abomination.

Gay marriage is a constitutionally protected right. That's why Proposition 8 was just overturned.

If you don't like that, you might feel more comfortable living in a nation where the citizens have fewer rights.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I know a gay person who was a Vietnam war hero and fought for your right to that opinion. He receive two purple hearts. He left Muhlenberg County and became a successful businessman because he didn't have the freedom to live his life without constant harrassment from idiots like you who don't have the brain capacity to live and let live. You're the abomination!
