the bible simply says that a man must not lay with another man...and the same thing goes for the women. If America is a religious country we need to support the laws of the bible.

Those "laws" you talk about are laws of Catholicism, not the law of the country. If you want to follow those laws, you have every right to. However, those who do not believe in your religion should not be made to live by those religious edicts.

Americans also can't infringe on other peoples religion, or lack thereof. There is a thing called seperation of church and state.

Your bible also says it is ok to sell your daughter.
If American is a religious country, I missed something. I thought it was freedom of religion, or (in my case) freedom from religion.
If we stick to religion-only views, should I not be able to be married, heterosexual, since I am agnostic?
The only thing gay marriage is going to do to the sanctity of marriage is possible improve it. More marriages may better the one-in-two-ends-in-divorce figure.

America was founded on The Bible! So why are we turning away from it now! And I am sorry that I missed the part in My Bible that says it is ok to sell your daughter! Being Gay is wrong in the eyes of God which makes it wrong in mine, but the Bible also says to hate the Sin not the Sinner! Homosexuality is a choice a temptation that alot of people are faced with but it is no different than drinking, drugs, stealing, killing, cheating they are all they same. But Jesus died on a Cross for all Sin even Gay Sin! And if you want to turn your back on that kind of Love be my guest! Jesus loves us all no matter what. I am truely sorry for all that do not Love him and accept him in return! You are really missing out!

"Love the sinner; hate the sin" is not from the Bible or from Christianity. Its from Hinduism. It was one of Mahatma Gandhi's catch phrases from the 1940s.
.
Also, your sin list doesn't match God's sin list; not even close!
.
Here's God's sin list:
__________
.
1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me
.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
.
3. Thou shalt keep holy the sabbath day
.
4. Honor thy father and thy mother
.
5. Thou shalt not kill
.
6. Thou shalt not commit adultery
.
7. Thou shalt not steal
.
8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor
.
9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife
.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods
.
http://www.radixguys.com/warroom/tencommandme...
__________
.
So; not only are you in violation of sin #8, you are attempting to play God; and that is a direct violation of sin #1.
.
Just to play it safe; we'll be following God's sin list, not yours. You're not God.

You reveal yourself being a cafeteria christian; picking, choosing, or outright making up stuff to condemn your fellow man:
.
From the King James:
__________
.
Exodus 21:7> And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. 21:8> If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her. 21:9> And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. 21:10> If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. 21:11> And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
__________
.
Notice when a man purchases a maidservant, she is also his wife.
.
So much for the modern-day BS about the definition of marriage; eh!

No. Perhaps you are not an American Citizen yet. Here's the deal:
.
America was founded on the principle of religious FREEDOM by people fleeing their homelands because of religious persecution
.
Religious FREEDOM means we can follow ANY religion, or NO religion, without persecution from our GOVERNMENT or our PEERS
.

No matter what the bible says, the person who commits the "sin" is to be judged. not you or your dog groomer. I am so sick of all the bible thumpers walking around here acting like they are above it all. You are all slaves to money and you will step on ANYONE to get what you want. Most of you say you are Christians to buy the trust of the people you want to rob blind. Who cares if gay people want to get married? You don't have to see them, live their lives, anything.

As a Christian I love all people no matter what they do. Because at any given moment they can be forgiven by God. Who am I to judge anyone! By the way was not listing the 10 Commandments I was just giving examples that all Sins are equal and All can be forgiven even Gay Marraige. I am so Thankful that I have a Loving and Forgiving God! I am not claiming to be anyone or making up my own rules! I just wanted those who may see God as someone mean and ready to cast us all into Hell at every mistake we make, for what he really is LOVE! He loved us ALL so much he gave His Only Begotten Son so we could be saved and be with him in Heaven.

Who cares what the bible says? If 2 men or 2 women want to get married, it's easier to just let them and not worry about it. If it doesn't affect my life in a negative way, then I could care less what they do. People get way to worked up about this.

According to the example God gives us in the Bible, there are three elements to marriage; any one, two, or all three of which can seal a marriage. God's 4th example illustrates the only way to end a marriage.
.
1. The souls of two people become knit as one
2. They make a covenant with God as their witness
3. They consummate their marriage
4. Their marriage is permanent until death they are parted
.
From the pre-1952 King James:
__________
.
1 Samuel 18:1> And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
.
1 Samuel 18:3> Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. 18:4> And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.
.
1 Samuel 20:41> And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded. 20:42> And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.
.
2 Samuel 1:25> How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places. 1:26> I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
__________
.
In today's society, God's principles of marriage; as parabled in first and second Samuel; can be successfully applied once they are understood by the participants; including you and the person you love

It doesn't matter about todays society. Gods word doesn't change and just because people try to make up their own rules doesn't make it ok!!!!!!!!! I am not trying to prove a point to someone that twists and turns The Bible to make it mean what they want it to mean to make life easier! Life is not easy and we all sin daily none of us are perfect it is impossible! Thanks to Jesus we don't have to be perfect to see Heaven!

I care because I want to see as many people go to Heaven as possible! We never know when we will take our last breath and then it is to late!

If one is going to discuss the Bible, please quote the Ten Commandments from the Bible as found in Exodus 20, not the Catholic version of the Ten Commandments. Also, in Exodus 21:7, we need to look at this verse in the context it was written. This practice of a parent being allowed to sell his daughter was part of the custom of the Hebrew people at that time. One also has to realize the kind of people the Hebrews were. God had his hands full dealing with these people. But one cannot read into these passages that God condones this type of thing. Not everything you read in the Bible is a command for us to do likewise and one needs to do careful study of a passage and the context it was written. As in the case of a man bestowing a kiss upon another. This is still the custom today in some countries. To see this as a passionate kiss alluding to a relationship is a stretch. The Bible is plain about a sexual relationship between people of the same sex. No matter how hard you try to tap dance around it, it is wrong.

I have a question for all of you that oppose gay marriage. How does it directly affect you? Why are you against it? Just because a book says it isn't right?
