Actually lots of explanation is needed, apparently.

Since the USA is founded on a separation of church and state, your arguments about what God intended here are irrelevant. That means in the USA we do not try to interpret what God intended when designing the laws of man.

We instead to try to provide equal civil rights to all citizens regardless of whether they want to marry the person of their dreams, who happens to be of the same sex, or if they want to build a place of worship on private property in downtown Manhattan.

Since state-sanctioned marriage provides benefits not afforded to unmarried individuals, by not allowing gays to marry, you don't allow them to benefit.

In essence, disallowing gay marriage prevents equal proportioning of the state-provided legal, tax and health benefits amongst all Americans. That's illegal under the constitution of the United States.

Discrimination and exclusion based on the gender two partners fall in love with, is so barbaric and intolerable. Makes me sick that America is still named "Land of the Free." Separation of Church and State.

It makes sense economically. A whole new wedding industry will emerge and all the ripple effects--flower shops, clothing, site rentals, bakeries, insurance companies, etc., etc. When gay men move into your neighborhood, property values increase and crime goes down. They often demand more upscale restaurants, bars, cafes, etc., and have more disposable income. Why would you NOT want that in your community?!

I certainly do not support gay marriage.
God created marriage to be between a man and a woman.

he did? Why do you need permission from the state? A church doesn't issue a marriage license, the courthouse does.

BS U read any BIBLE. Romans 1:26-27

Saint Paul writing his Epistles
In the Epistle to the Romans 1:26-27 (English Majority Text Version, EMTV), Paul writes

“For this reason [idolatry] God gave them up to passions of dishonor; for even their females exchanged the natural use for that which is contrary to nature, and likewise also the males, having left the natural use of the female, were inflamed by their lust for one another, males with males, committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting for their error.

English Standard Version: Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
