so kim kardashian can marry for public attention but two gay people cant marry for love? if straight people won't respect the "sanctity of marriage" then it can't be used as an argument against gay marriage.

If two adults want to share their lives, they should be able to and enjoy all the benefits associated with it.

Really? Jump off your high horse, basically everything about life today is unnatural. Gay marriage however? It's not. In my opinion, you are against the laws of natural.

You can cross check any of the listed Bible verses, they are accurate.
Bible verses may be accurate for you, but not for everybody.

Being gay/lesbian doesn't make you less susceptible to breakups/divorces. It still happens and pretty much in the same % as the general population.

I personally think gay/lesbian couples are great. If two people love each other, no one should stand in their way. I've known many gays/lesbians over the years, most of whom were good, close friends. I've spent a great deal of time with them, gone to exclusive gay parties and bars, been hit on by men (lol), I've been teased for being straight, I've had friends with AIDS, and on and on. I even moved into the gay community of Hillcrest in San Diego (inadvertently) for a few years.

But when it comes to marriage there are several issues one should consider:

--It weakens the definition and respect for the institution of marriage.
--It further weakens the traditional family values essential to our society.
--It provides a slippery slope in the legality of marriage (e.g. having multiple wives, or other alternative marriage concepts).
--It confuses children about gender roles and expectations of society.
--Years of research shows that a gay/lesbian lifestyle leads to a lower life expectancy, psychological disorders, and other problems.

Again, I have no problem with same sex couples, but I do have a problem with a minority dictating that a society adapt to meet their needs. Marriage has been around for well over 4000 years, and has been a religious practice for nearly 2000 years and in all that time has been considered to be between a man and a woman. Now, in only a couple of generations, we are supposed to throw all that away to accommodate 5% of our population.

I'll bet few people even remember how this all got started. Back in the 70's a guy was dying of AIDS and his partner wasn't going to receive any benefits since they weren't "married". The issue received national attention at the time and most people understood that he was getting a raw deal. Because of that everything has since changed regarding the rights of same sex partners..... except for that pesky marriage thing.

I do feel for you, but I can't support you.

Someone else's love life should be none of your concern, just as yours should be none of ours. Live and let live.

I support same sex marriage. Equal protection under the law. It's imperative we not impose our religious beliefs with the Constitution.

Every person deserves equal protection under the law and other people's religious views should not compromise their rights.

Who cares people, to the people who say its not suppose to be or that its wrong then why do other animals in the animal kingdom do it? and seriously don't bring some stupid story book (bible) into the conversation anyone who still believes in the crap ether have there head in the past or are to dumb to think for themselves. And also why would anyone oppose it, it's not like it affects you in anyway its just 2 people wanting to have a life together so what's so wrong about that?
