For all the straight people out there ranting and raving about gay marriage being against their religion and immoral, how does gay marriage effect you in anyway? As a gay man, when issue 1 passed in 2004 I was devistated. I was 17 and struggling with my sexual identity and to see 67% of ohioans vote to instill discrimination into our constitution made me feel as less of a person. I am a taxpaying citizen, don't I deserve the same rights as a straight man to one day get married? I am not involved in a church, so I would get married in the courts-not your church! Also, any church can refuse to marry anyone they choose. It happens all the time, Catholics who divorced are not able to remarry in the catholic church for example. That is their right as a religious organization. However, what does religion have to do with me getting married before a judge? How does that threaten your straight marriage? If your argument is family values and morality, since when is hate a family value?

Why doesn't it make any sense? Marriage is a social contract between two people. There is no requirement or even expectation of them having children together.

Millions of straight people are married without kids. Do you propose their marriages be nullified?

I NEVER heard Jesus speak with so much hatrid. I never heard Jesus say He hated anything. I never heard him call prostitutes sick or disgusting for the vile acts they performed. He spoke kind words of forgiveness and ever lasting life. Sin is sin. Just because homosexuality goes against one's nature, does not make it any more sinful or unforgiveable as judgement, stealing, being lazy, being lustful, lying, back biting, coveting, etc. Man cannot "weight" sin. I find molestors and child abusers to be twisted, demented FLUCKS - and ideally and morally worthy of a lake of fire. However, that isn't my choice or my decision or my or up to me to judge their souls. People who go around spouting off at the mouth in the name of God are the reasons people are turning their backs from God.
