Ferguson Debate - Martinsville, VA
Discuss the national Ferguson debate in Martinsville, VA.
Who do you side with in the Ferguson, MO situation?

Neither side is presenting any reasonableness. The police should have given evidence that the office was attacked and had his skull broken. The people need to wait on justice to be done, not take it into their own hands. The really sad thing is the political use of the crisis to further divide people instead of promoting trust or reason from anyone. Hardly anyone actually trusts anyone else - from bankers, to nations, to politicians to religion and even teaching lies to be historical facts - is truth completely dead in the streets of America today?

Obey the law to begin with and you won't be having one single bit of trouble from the police. This includes but is not limited to:
1. Not smoking dope. Ever.
2. Not robbing a convenience store with your buddy.
3. Not jaywalking down the middle of a road.
4. Mouthing off at a policeman who has stopped you because he has observed you walking in the road.
5. Trying to grab the policeman's weapon.
6. Attacking the policeman.
Go to YouTube and watch Chris Rock's brilliant instructional video called "How Not To Get Your Ass Kicked by the Police". Should be required viewing for anybody.

In general, always exceptions to rules, a man or woman with a certain personality makes a decision in their life, I am going to a policeman or a criminal.

Speaking from experience, it is a hugely bad decision, irregardless of personality type, to try and take a weapon away from a person that is trained to use it and has every legal right to be carrying one in the performance of their job duties.
Doing that pretty much puts you at a disadvantage to virtually every legal recourse that might be available. It also may result in you paying for that decision with your life.

Each case has to stand or fall on the evidence specific to the case.
This boy in Salt Lake City had ear phones in his ears, wasn't doing wrong, and was shot and killed by an officer of the law. Law enforcement has been trained vastly different than what they were when I grew up. We live in a police state.
The opening round was shot at the poor black lady with a baby in the car at the white house - remember that one? It's been the same since that day.

There have been mistakes made by the police (and the military) ever since they had to come into being. And yes, there are bad cops out there. Plenty of them, but maybe not as many as before, when police work was not as technologically based as it is today.
A true police state today is North Korea. We are not at that point yet. But let the drugs, drug money, and crime keep on at it's present pace and we will have the military deployed in US cities to combat well armed and well funded domestic terrorists. We don't need to go across the water to find them anymore.

We still have the freedom to worship God in spirit and truth and to have a conscience between us and God - rather than the State Priesthood and State Church - which is what matters most to me. We are still blessed to live in the USA, but I think those who call themselves by "His Name" must repent to hear and do His will if our land is to be healed.
The church encompasses the true believers - and we have to look to what God and the Son have said to know what that term means, does and is. IF,(and I believe it does) the Gospel of Master Y'shua is a continuation and fulfillment of the Everlasting Covenant which is sealed with the blood of Master Y'shua, rather than the blood of bulls and goats:
There are conditions to the covenant that are additional, but in no way take away from any of the moral and righteous instructions of God from the beginning of the agreed Everlasting Covenant.
The Torah, the Law that God gave to Moses, states clearly that the people - both as individuals and as a nation - have a choice. They can choose to obey the injunctions God has laid down for those who have undertaken the obligation of the Covenant, or they can choose to reject them. There are consequences related to either decision.
In the Everlasting Covenant in Master Y'shua, the condition is to be hearers and doers of the Doctrine and Commandments of God as taught by the Son - submission to the will of the Father in all things. This is why Matt 28 great commission goes with Acts 2: 38 goes with Acts 3:22,23. This is why it must match belief that does the will of God, that comes to the Christ to know and undertstand the will of God. This is why John could say those that don't do as He instructed should not be acknowledged as amongst the "brethren", and not to fellowship with those who claim His name, but reject His teachings.
I think "Christians" is a name that implies those who are called this will model their lives after His, rather than the mode of getting dunked in some water defines what a "Christain" is. Jesus (Master Y'shua) calls for "disciples", not "Christians".
We cannot go wrong to abide in His word indeed. Why do as others say?
If God said that He will heal the land of His people if they repent to do His will, it would seem reasonable and true that there should be a call for all Christians to repent and return to God.
I'm currently reading "THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS, Understanding Their Spiritual Meaning." So far it matches that the "Teacher of Righteousness" is Y'shua, then there is James the Just, and of course my favorite would be that Paul is "The Sprouter of Lies". It all seems to fit so far. The rules of the community were established by the Teacher of Righteousness. Is this not what Y'shua taught?
"The Covenant Scroll tells us that God is aware of the propensity of the people to be led away from their commitments. Therefore, God periodically sends inspired individuals to remind us of our obligations and then allows us the latitude to repent and return. Those who do return to God and resume observance of the Law are the remnant of the faithful. They will be saved from the destructive consequences of rebellion. Those who stubbornly refuse to listen and willfully resist will be given enough rope with which to hang themselves. God will allow them to stray, and eventually, they will have to face the full consequences of their decision. The reader is told to choose that which God loves and reject that which He hates. We are instructed not to follow our own guilty inclinations or act on the lust of our eyes." page 52
