My children absolutely love to work on the farm. I think it gives them a know how of life in general and that you work for what you get. They eat well and sleep great at night, there in good health and still getting the education they need at school and home. I wouldn't over work them in the least bit myself but in all reality it's hard to get them to come in to eat when there out working around the home or helping with the garden. Maybe if parents spent more quality time with there children and got them involved in such work at an early age we wouldn't have all these people out here dealing or on drugs, stealing and in jail every other weekend.

Seriously, what a foolish question. We need to instill some sort of work ethic at a young age. Not teach our kids to be lazy!

We never had a farm, however I hired out to chop and hoe cotton, and thin corn when I was about 10 years old.We were paid 3 dollars a day,and glad to get it.In the fall we picked cotton for $3.50 a hundred pounds. It never hurt us ,and it instilled a work ethic in us that lasted all our lives.I am nearly 70 years old and still work.Never drawed an unemployment check in my life.I had as many as 3 jobs at one time to get by.A full time and 2 part time jobs.Won't hurt them kids a bit to work.Do'um good.

Kids these days don't know what farm work is. If they can't get it from a can or off a shelf its not worth eating.
