I grew up on a family farm in MN and it was the best place to learn about how to work and why work is important. I did work all over our farm from the mundane to the risky stuff. I had great teachers my parents taught us about the importance of safety on the farm.

A child's primary job should be to get a good educations. If they do not want to do farm chores they should not have to. It is slave labor . After all do they get to negotiate an allowance? I could not take a child to work with me to a factory and farms should be pretty much the same way.
