I think the drinking age for all active duty military should be lowered. If a person is old enough to go through that kind of intensive training, and risk their lives defending our country, they are old enough to drink.
is that right

Your clearly under educated, and must be under aged yourself!

Alcohol consumption should be based off of maturity. I know a lot of underage individuals who can handle alcohol just fine. And I know adults that should never touch it.

Good topic maturity. Old enough to die but not old enough to fly.

drinking is not a contest, it is not who can drink the most, or I can out drink you!, or trying to show off by how much you can drink. And the majority of those who are under 21 years of age drink for those reasons, they drink at a party and try to drink more than their friends and show off how much alcohol they can handle. And it is for those reasons they make it 21. I do agree that some people under 21 are very capable of being more responsible than those over 21, but most however aren't and see drinking as a contest and treat it as a game rather than just to get a slight buzz to be social, no one should ever binge drink

Teenagers can't handle drinking, they prove it every time they do it illegally. I've had friends underage drink and drive and wreck. Kids aren't smart enough for this.

A LOT of deaths are caused from drunk driving...but most wrecks are ages 19-24.. Not all underagers are the cause, they're just easier to throw the blame on. Older folks need to take some responsibility.
If you are legally old enough to sign your life over to the military..you should be old enough to drink alcohol..even if the government made exceptions only for military people.. It's not right that you can be killed overseas fighting for your country, but you can't drink to celebrate a victory.

ok this is crap. Me and my friends drink all the time and none of us go driving around or streaking. We play our pong at the house and maybe some drinking games then we take funny pics and go to bed. Yet I've seen adults who drink and get ignorant and become stupid assholes. Personally teens handle alcohol better than most adults especially when we drink for fun and they do for depression

Most underage drinkers stay home or at a friends house and hang so they don't get caught. The brain does not stop developing until your early 20s and drinking kills brain cells plus stunts growth so there are some medical reasons behind the drinking age. Maybe you all should serve in the military till your 21 to occupy your time then if you still feel that you need to drink to enjoy life then drink when its legal.

Well I had to mop up a 24 year old off the road last night. Yes he was riding his rice rocket way to fast but guess what he was sober! The drunken 18 year old high school senior thinking he was sober enough to drive a car just 6 miles home really was not. I arrived just in time to watch another person DIE for no reason (surprise not the intoxicated driver).

The age is not the problem 21 is fine allowing SORRY ASS PARENTS, STORE OWNERS and the dumb ass older so called friend get off scott free is the problem. This 18 year olds life is forever changed as is the family of the 24 year old. As for those supplying the drinks life goes on unaltered.
