If you are considered an adult at 18 then you should be able to choose what you drink.

It is kinda schizo that the government has decided it can draft (men at least) into its military and send them to foreign lands to die for no good reason, but that they aren't mature enough to decide on their own whether or not to consume alcohol.

Like most "morality" laws, the legal drinking age is the product of mental illness/severe dysfunction, including control freak personality, religious delusion, and such things. The government naturally attracts these kinds of sick individuals where they get to engage in their compulsion to dominate and control others.

Let's see, they can drive at 16 but must wait a one year period before having passengers - and the studies support this decreases teen car crashes. So some idiot wants to give them alcohol just one year after they are allowed to have passengers in their car....that just spells disaster.

If you want to drink at 18 then move to England, their driving laws have changed and it is hard to pass your test there so at least we know you won't be on the road. If you are so passionate about this subject, then maybe you have a drinking problem....just saying.

If a kid is old enough to join the army and die for his/her country, he/she is old enough to drink. They are mature enough to vote for the governement leader, etc.

that is the dumbest argument I have heard, you are passonate about it so you must have a drinking problem. Really how dumb can you be.

I for one don't drink at all, I am fifty and stopped drinking when I got married 25 years ago, because my wife didn't drink. She doesn't drink because she had an abusive alcoholic father, she decided she would never drink.

So I don't drink, and I fully support changing the age to 18, is is an adult decision each adult should make for themselves.

You are the one who is against it becuase you have a 40+ year husband who abuses alcohol and therefore you think you know what is best for everyone else. You are doing exactly what you are accusing other of doing, and you don't even see it.

Wow...I had no idea I had a 40 year old husband, maybe I should divorce this stranger and collect some spousal support. Last time I took a look at my life I was a 29 year old single mother, who didn't bitch about the drinking age when she was 18 because there were more important things in life to think about, such as being 18 and furthering my education to make something of myself.
