Equality. One word. Very simple.

The fact is that gay and lesbian Americans have served in every branch of the military in every war in history, and that they served in silence, out of fear of discovery, disgrace and a dishonorable discharge. It is homophobia, not homosexuality, that is the abomination here.

“Don't Ask, Don't Tell” isn't simply counterproductive: it is indecent, and needs to be quickly consigned to the ash-heap of history.
