why not? Do you think gaydom just began in the last 20 or so years? There have been gays in the military since there was a military fighting for rights for all of us

If it was just lifestyle it wouldn't be as bad but it is the HIV hazard. Gays may have been in the military but HIV wasn't around until the last 25-30 years endangering everyone who came in contact with them. In war there is a major risk of getting blood on you or contact in ways that could give a life threatening disease and there is no cure for. HIV alone is enough to prevent gays from being allowed to serve in the military. I know I sure wouldn't want any of my grandchildren or great grandchildren being in the military with HIV as one of the hazards they would have to deal with.

As a veteran, I want my brothers in arms to be respected and not forced to lie about who they are. They would jump on a grenade for me, respecting them is the least I can do.
