The readiness of the military and honor of those who serve with dignity and commtiment shouldn't be impacted by those who can't understand some people are different than others and there's nothing wrong with that, even if you don't understand.

Chuck you dad would be proud to know you were so supportive of the homosexual community. I would like to ask you to consider how terrible a run on sentence your statement is and rewrite it.

Chuck, It is very difficult for me to believe that you actually believe what you wrote.

There is something wrong with it! I do understand that homosexualty is an abomination in the eyes of our Creator. Remember Sodom was destroyed because of its sin.

Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of a multitude of sins not just homosexuality, although homosexuality is wrong in the eyes of god it's no more wrong than adultry or fornication or according to old testament law even gluttony! I say let those of us without sin cast the first stone!

My father and I might have had some deep discussions about this. I, honestly, don't know if he would have agreed with me or not, but it would have been enlightening to debate the points.

Am I supporting the homosexual community? I think of myself as supporting the military and fairness and tolerance.

I must have missed the verse that said Soddom and Gamorrah was destroyed because of homosexuality. Can you point out which one it was?

Glad to oblige.
Jude 1:7; International Standard Version (©2008)
"Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities near them, which like them committed sexual sins and engaged in homosexual activities, serve as an example of the punishment of eternal fire."
I suppose that you translate otherwise, reject Jude, or believe that homosexuality is not condemned by God along with other immoral acts? You are unbelievable. Just when I thought that my impression of you couldn't be any lower, you go a little deeper in the foolishness and quackery known as liberalism.
What do your good buddies the muslims think of queers?

I agree with you Mountian, Dont ask dont tell was a law that didnt let you say the truth.

I wouldnt worry what the Bible says...The bible was written by desert goat herders 3000 years ago that thought the Earth was flat and the cure for leprosey was mixing bird blood with water.

These people quoting the Bible to you would be quoting scriptures from the Quran if they were born in Iran.

You dont have to be straight to shoot straight.

Vic, OK, you've found one version of the bible which specifically says "homosexuality". Here's a few others which don't.

New International Version (©1984)
In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

New Living Translation (©2007)
And don't forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God's judgment.

English Standard Version (©2001)
just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

King James Bible
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

American King James Version
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

American Standard Version
Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, having in like manner with these given themselves over to fornication and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.

Bible in Basic English
Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the towns near them, having like these, given themselves up to unclean desires and gone after strange flesh, have been made an example, undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

Douay-Rheims Bible
As Sodom and Gomorrha, and the neighbouring cities, in like manner, having given themselves to fornication, and going after other flesh, were made an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.

It seems man can't agree on what God said and keeps rewriting the interpretation to me. I wonder what Jesus said about homosexuality? It doesn't appear he commented on it.

I don't see how anyone can say another is evil, simply because they express their love differently than me.

Chuck said that he only replies to topics that interest him, such as about gays?...Maybe gay men topics was one Jesus' didn't care to talk about. To me it's unthinkable. Just another symptom of a perverted and corrupt society.

Do I think gays should be allowed to serve in the military? I think they are wonderful candidates. Perhaps they will be the ones to impose the marshal law on the US??

Realistically thinking, perhaps the premise is, with a war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Mexico and soon China and north Korea,(Iran still isnít out of the heat) we are going to need all the troops we can get. Hope they donít start on the kids and senior citizens.

Your right Mountian, Jesus never said Homosexuality is wrong, but he did say he didnt come to abolish the laws but to fulfill them. Matthew 5:17 --- Was Jesus he talking about Homosexuality, or the 613 OT laws? who knows.

The Old Testament does say a man cant lie with another man, but it also says you cant go near a woman on her peroid...people pick and choose what they want to believe.

You have so many different Bibles, so many different christian churches...who knows what Jesus really said...If god did wright the bible he did a poor job because everyone is so confused, he couldve done better.

Mike,
Excellent point. Perhaps we should start a thread on what was said in the New Testament or how the many different books of the bible and bibles came into being.

Pam,

I'm not surprised something is "unthinkable" to you. I'm just surprised you admit it.

chunk, unlike you, i would never give thought to a gay, a gay act or anything else gay. it's unthinkably perverted and corrupt, TO ME---IN MY OPINION!!!.

Unlike you, i will not allow corruptable thoughts into my mind. perhaps if men like you could only refrain as well, there would be less children being molested by catholic priests and other persons who work with children LIKE YOU.

Pam,

Unable to comment on the topic,as usual. I think you almost have it correct when you said "I will not allow corruptable thoughts into my mind..." If your thoughts are already corrupt, they are uncorruptable. You are entitled to your opinion. If you post it on a public forum, you need to be prepared to have it challenged and try to avoid insulting those who disagree with you. Do you have anything to contribute to the topic of the thread?

Lol, chunk is trying to make the gays mad at me.....let me help him

GAYS ARE AN ABOMINATION TO GOD AND MAN. GAYS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO FIGHT IN THE WAR, INFACT, SHOULD BE FIRST ON THE FRONT LINES. GAYS SHOULD BE RECRUITED TO BE SUICIDE BOMBERS WITH THE SOUL PURPOSE OF BOMBING SELF.

Did you guys know that you can throw your demons out of your temple and your life. Rebuke them in the name of Jesus Christ and they will leave...for as long as YOU want them to.

lol, Just thought of something; seems chunk "retired" from the military about the same time they kicked the gays out???

There are many gays married to women for the sake of the family's reputation.

No chunk, my thoughts are far from corrupt. Anyone knows me knows that I am the most uncorrupt person in the area. You couldn't corrupt me with your drugs, even though I have a ruptured and bulging disc in my lowest lumbar spine with a lipoma growing against it. I got a pipe the diameter of a garden hose that reaches from hip bone to hip bone crammed in there and advancing PAD yet IĎm not addicted to your pills. you couldn't corrupt me with your money, even though I am dirt poor. seems I always get what I need. I am surviving. you couldn't corrupt me with perversion because THANK GOD I am a woman.
