No. We are taxed too much as it is. We have a spending problem not a revenue problem. I say cut spending across the board 10% before we even think about what else to cut. Then move on to social services. Crack down on all the low lifes who think the government owes them a living. Create an environment where these lazy people can find a job if forced to. How do you do that you ask? Cut tge corporate tax to zero. You will see corporations all over the world bring jobs back to the U.S. Not fair you say? Well just use your brain for a minute. I know it's hard for you Libs. But the fact is corporations are entities, they are not people. Corporations don't pay taxes. People pay taxes.

Every penny of corporate tax is passed on to you the consumer, in the form of higher prices. Simple really. Now if those in congress would just have the balls to say enough is enough. No more deficit spending!

All those Democrats may have voted against raising the debt limit but that was just one vote and it did pass on the next vote after negotiating with Republicans.

Too much Rush and Hannity. Corporations have screwed America over and they continue to do so. They should have their taxes raised if we have to give up any entitlements. Simple as that. Closing loop holes is not taxing it is cutting expenses.

"Using trumped up crisis to raid the public purse and attack the basic rights and benefits is a very old trick - but rarely is the shock doctrine tactic wielded as brazenly as in the pseudo debate about the debt ceiling. This is naked class war, waged by the ultra rich against everyone else, and it's well past time for Americans to draw the line."

Raising the debt ceiling is like giving an alcoholic an increase in his credit limit at the local bar.
Bad idea.

I called my Member of U.S. Congress named Charlie Bass of Peterborough, New Hampshire, and spoke to one of his legislative aides over the telephone. I told him that I want Congress to raise the debt ceiling and protect entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid. The legislative aide said "thank you" and then hung up the telephone on me. I don't believe my Member of U.S. Congress will meet my request. I will remember this at next year's federal election when I vote!

Well, most of the cuts should be in the defense bill. But we just love our wars too much. This summed it up 40 years ago, how eery!
