There should be no agreement to raise the debt ceiling! Who will be left to tax that's rich?

Cut spending, eliminate waste, downsize government, and then talk to me about raising taxes.

Yep. WE don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.

What perplexes me is the number of people who are willing to raise taxes, many do not pay taxes, so their position is understandable. But, those that do pay, what is there motivation?

Providing more giveaways for the politicians to giveaway makes no sense to me.

I have heard the arguments about the need to pay our bills and they all sound valid until I continue to see deficit spending and think, if the economy fails to recover in a timely manner we are going to have to walk away from the things we can't afford and let those who hold paper foreclose.

The solution seems simple to me, turn every incumbent out and continue doing so until the bleeding stops.

They'll say (they'll even scream) "raise my taxes". They think it will preserve their jobs.

Many of them are govt employees. But a smart govt employee would know only a fiscally sound govt can continue to pay govt salaries. A govt in deep debt will eventually have to layoff govt employees.

Democrat/Liberals don't care about debt. Their ideology means more to them than sound economic policies. Even the Liberal who studies economics leans towards at least socialism (if not communism). But both will always fail, the Russians and Chinese proved that.

Liberals are dishonest people - they must lie (and deceive) to justify their socialist ideology because socialism always fails.

Obama, a socialist, is destroying America's economy with excessive govt spending.

Actually, it seems that the "I want, give me, get me," instant gratification mentality has taken over. Almost as if they knew there were limited amounts of the pie left and if they waited they would get none, so they gorged.
Main stream, old school, traditional long term thinking, banks, ruined the housing and bond market for short term gains, even while some of them must have guessed they would fail. Even politicians having less monetary understanding of banking should have known, the older middle class did.
GWB acted like a D, spending like a teenager with dad's credit card, knowing that individual borrowing was a serious problem, then Obama accepted all of the free credit cards he got in the mail, maxed them and took a second on the house which he spent instead of paying our bills.

Unless someone understands that a stable business environment is the force that will turn the economy around we are lost. Obama still polls ahead of the Rs, yet he doesn't even have party support. He is clueless and his handlers don't need to address the issues because he still may be reelected, talk about crazy.
