Well biblical scholar im sure you can figure it out if your a scholar..... i would love to debate you over it if you think a man and a man can join together as one in marriage and still be living according to the Word.

What debate.... since we are not a theocracy... it doesnt matter what your bible says... or more like what you interpret it to mean.
I find it funny how people use the bible to go against homosexuality and ssm... yet turn a blind eye to divorce and remarriage. Most "bible" based churches would have no problem marrying a divorced (for reasons other than infidelity) person.. yet are against homosexuality....

Im against divorce also and the Bible is very clear about divorce and sodomy. Yes there are churches out there that do not conduct themselves completely in line with scripture. Because the Word has slowly been eroded and watered down. There still are strict Bible believing churches though not perfect they still are getting the truth out there.

Ya but here is the deal.... these strict "bible" believing churches tend to only "get the truth out" when it does no harm to them. The same churches that will unabashedly have sermons against homosexuality, say how they will go to hell, had performed a wedding the Saturday before where one or both parties were divorced for reasons other than adultery. It is easy to preach against homo., after all the congregation was trained to believe that. However if you were a true BIBLE believing church, you would not allow your church to participate in any way shape or form in the marriage of a person, who for reasons other than adultery, got divorced and wants to marry again. However, if you did that... if you truely stood firm on biblical principles, you run the risk of alienating the congregation. After all with a divorce rate of almost 50 percent, to stand on the biblical principles of divorce and remarriage, to have a sermon calling all remarried divorced peoplewith the exceptin of ones caused by cheating) what the Bible says they are "adulters", would offend many of the parishioners..... causing them to leave, thus losing precious tithes, not to mention status in the community.... So they let that go. It is much easier to go against the 4 percent of the population that is homosexual, and say you are standing up for biblical principles.
If you want to say you do what you do based on biblical teachings... then do exactly that. Do not pick and choose your biblical teachings from the Christian buffet of biblical teachings.
One other thing, as I have said time and time before. If a church want to be hypocritical, and preach against homo. marriage... that is fine. However their beliefs should have no weight on the civil rights of homosexual citizens. We are not a theocracy. The Bible, while for some is a way to live, has no bearing on our rights as citizens.
