Why not????
The only real reason for denying this to them is either phobia, or religion. Neither should play part in this. Let's face it, gay men and women are going to be gay and with other gays. Not letting them marry, we loose out on money through marriage licenses, ceremonies, and let's face it, divorces.

Why not?? Just think of the extra money that would be generated through marriage licenses, ceremonies, and let's face it, divorces. the only reason to deny them the ability to marry would be religion or phobia...Neither of these have a place in law...just in personal beliefs.

How about we let the government officiate gay marriages and you church types can go on being bigots and just not let them come to worship your imaginary god.

the bible should have everything to do with the law...the law just shouldnt treat people unfairly when they are on trial for a crime...god says,''man shall not lay with man as a woman, it is an ABOMONATION.'' just because our sinful human minds think something is right doesnt mean it is...its called being humble to god....love gays and treat them with love and respect but remember what they do is wrong.'' my guess is it prohibits the true reason for sex and thats procreation...when sex becomes a pleasure first and love second that to is a sin and does extend to hetero sexuals. God has his reasons, who are you or I to argue with it. Invisible god?? There is much more proof he exists than proof he doesnt...

People who love each other, love each other. Same gender relationships deserve to be together, legally or otherwise, just as much as any other relationships. To demand otherwise is primeval. Are you a bunch of stupid animals? Or are you capable adults who recognize that this is a non-issue and shouldn't even be debated this heavily? It's common sense, this shouldn't be a political problem and it takes away from actual issues.

scripture, ive been giving examples on all my posts...it comes down to simple yes or no questions, go to a church of christ....people like you wont be convinced unless god floats down snaps his fingers and magically the world will be fixed....not gonna happen, you want proof?? Hit the scriptures and quit reading aetheist web sites that quote the same full of crap ''bible contradictions''. Quit going by what ''they'' say and look for yourself, thats what church is for to answer questions...go to wed night class, in the church i go to thats the night we all discuss the bible, no holds barred.....the problem with huge mega churches is, its not a true personal experience IMO anyway, go to smaller churches

because mr.baptist, your god says its wrong...period, what do those baptist, churches teach anyway??? Once saved always saved?? Its a lie, peter him self fell from grace when he denied christ, three times. My wife asked a customer of hers once whats the differnce between baptist and christ churches, he said ''well we can dance, smoke, qnd drink.'' enough said...and thats not the first time ive heard baptists condone ''minor'' sins qs long as your saved. Get real baptists, die to yourselves daily.''

You basically keep telling me to go to church and place my faith on an outdated, scientifically refuted book written thousands of years ago. But you didn't answer what I was ultimately asking. Talking to people who share your faith will not convince me of God's existence. There's not much difference in discussing the Bible and a mythology book.

It's not a god given right to love, it's an emotion you can't help. I'm not gay, but I know they love people the same way I do.

Jacko,
You aren't going to keep gay people from living together, being together, etc. If you legalize the marriage or not is not going to change what they do. There's no "win" to making it illegal.

If you love someone and want to spent the rest of your life with them... What gives someone the right to deny that? Why can two people who hate each other get married at the drop of a hat, but two men or two women or anyone have to fight to be with someone they love and be able to call them their spouse/significant other? Seriously people. Put yourself in someone else's shoes fighting for rights that you shouldn't have to fight for when it's so freely given to anyone else.
